Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Arusha to Tarangire

You'll drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park early in the morning for a full day of game viewing. The park is known for its large elephant populations, and you'll have good chances to spot lions, cheetahs, and leopards throughout the day. Along with the big cats, you'll see wildebeest, buffalo, zebras, and various gazelle species as you move through different areas of the park. The open terrain makes for excellent wildlife viewing, and your guide will position you for close encounters with the animals.

    Maasai Village - Serengeti

Start your day at the Ngorongoro Crater viewpoint to take in the vast landscape below. If you're interested, there's an option to visit a Maasai village where you can learn about their way of life and cultural practices directly from the community. After lunch, you'll head to Serengeti and drive through the Seronera area in the afternoon. As evening approaches, you'll watch the sunset from a good vantage point while looking for wildlife, then return to camp for dinner and overnight.

  3. Day 3

    Serengeti

This day focuses on the Seronera area in central Serengeti, where you'll do afternoon and evening game drives. You'll have chances to see predators in action, whether they're hunting or at a kill, which happens regularly in this region. The sunset viewing from the Serengeti is particularly good here, and wildlife tends to be active during this time. After dark, you'll head back to camp where hyenas and other nocturnal animals often come through the area, and you can watch them safely from your site with your ranger nearby.

    Serengeti to Simba Campsite

You'll start before sunrise with an early breakfast, then head out on a morning game drive while animals are most active. This is when you'll have the best chances to see predators hunting and many species moving about. You'll return to camp in the afternoon for a substantial lunch break. Later, you'll do another game drive as you begin leaving Serengeti and making your way toward Simba Campsite, where you'll stay the night.

    Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, you'll descend into Ngorongoro Crater, which sits at about 5,900 feet below the rim. Your guide will focus on searching for black rhinos, which are difficult to find but do live here. The crater floor is home to a concentrated population of wildlife, making it easier to spot most other animals like wildebeest, zebras, and lions. You'll have lunch partway through the day, then continue with afternoon game driving. Later, you'll ascend back up the crater rim and head to Sunbright Campsite for the evening.

From there, you'll visit a coffee farm where locals explain the full process of growing, harvesting, and processing coffee beans. You'll participate in roasting and preparing coffee yourself to get a sense of how it's done.
