Richard at Mukisa was more than communicative, prompt and went WAY above and beyond when I got delayed a day by the airlines and then my bag was lost for the 1st half of our trip. The man drove 9 HOURS, yes 9 hours 1 way to bring me my things personally. Bridget/John were knowledgeable, safe, fun and now family. Whether you are going by yourself (single ladies I'm talking to you) or with a friend/family I would fully trust Mukisa to treat you right and take care of all of your needs! I would also like to point out that the owners have taken it upon themselves to hire female guides which is not common in Uganda so for my supportive, independent females out there...know this is the ONLY company to use!Show more

We were accompanied by two guides: a very competent driver, well-connected and knowledgeable about the country, and his colleague, who managed everything. I would like to emphasize that Mukisa Safari also offers female guides employment opportunities. We really appreciated this, and it enriched our trip. The tour was exceptionally well-planned, we had nice accommodations, and we felt very well looked after by both of them. They always tried to accommodate our individual needs. The daily distances were appropriate, we had incredibly beautiful wildlife encounters, and we enjoyed the magnificent and diverse landscapes of this vibrant country. We had the most incredible time and would highly recommend Uganda as a travel destination and Mukisa Safaris as expert guides. Uganda is absolutely beautiful - rich in its diverse landscapes, abundance of wildlife, and kind, generous, fun people. We had so many truly awesome animal encounters, including gorillas, chimpanzees, rhinos, lions, leopards and all the extra 'normal' African wildlife you expect to see. But no destination can be enjoyed as richly without the expertise and care of an incredible guide and we were so grateful to have an amazing team at Mukisa look after everything to make our journey carefree. They booked beautiful accommodation for us, navigated across the country safely, arranged more than enough food to feed us twice over so we were never hangry!, and most remarkably, showed us true care and connection. One of the hardest things when choosing a safari company was knowing if we could trust - but we were consistently reassured by the prompt communication, professional assistance, and in the end, the incredibly planned and executed holiday! Cannot recommend highly enough. Do yourself a favour and book yourself any of the Mukisa trips - you will see so much, be so well looked after, and make memories for a lifetime!Show more

We had the most wonderful experience in Uganda. Everything about this tour was excellent - it was perfectly organised and included once-in-a-lifetime activities, kind and accommodating staff, delicious food, beautiful accommodation and fantastic communication throughout. We told our lovely tour guide, Allen, that we wanted to try some local food so she brought us to the home of an acquaintance, who cooked us a big feast. Richard was fantastic to work with from beginning to end. Before the tour, there were times I e-mailed Richard when it would've been in the middle of the night for him, and I still received a response minutes later. At one point the A/C in our car stopped working, and the next day Richard sent out a new car with working A/C for us to use, despite us being on the other side of the country (we never requested it - they were just very proactive!). He picked us up from the airport (quite rare for a tour CEO to do so) and called me at the end of our trip to discuss our experience. The staff really went above and beyond to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. We really couldn't have asked for anything more and we’ve come home with a lifetime of amazing memories. Right now I want to go back to Uganda!Show more

Our experience with Mukisa Safaris was exceptional from start to finish. We booked our tour almost a year in advance, and as our departure date approached, we had numerous questions. Richard was fantastic at communicating with us, always responding promptly to every query, big or small. His answers were thoughtfully written, not just copy-paste responses, and they provided us with great reassurance. From the moment we arrived at Entebbe airport, we were able to relax and enjoy our adventure. Every day and every activity was meticulously organized and ran smoothly. Our tour guide, Alex, ensured we were on time and well-prepared for each day's activities. She briefed us every evening about the next day, advising us on what to wear and bring. Alex was brilliant – caring, knowledgeable, and passionate about Uganda and its wildlife. She shared many interesting stories and facts about Uganda and African culture and traditions. We enjoyed spending time with her in the evenings, but she also respected our privacy. Alex made sure we interacted with local people, participated in their activities, visited a local school, and tried local food. Dancing and having fun with indigenous people was a highlight. Our driver, Mande, was also excellent. We felt safe with him behind the wheel, and he always ensured we were comfortable and had the best views of animals and landscapes during our drives and game drives. He made sure we could take great photos without any obstacles. The accommodations improved each day. Staying in camps and hearing the sounds of birds, monkeys, hippos, and other animals was an unforgettable experience, like a symphony of nature. The quality of the rooms and tents was amazing, with comfortable beds and beautiful interiors. The food at every place was delicious – be prepared to eat a lot! Every staff member at each lodge treated us wonderfully; they were kind, smiley, and eager to hear about our adventures. We decided to visit Uganda after watching the documentary "Chimp Empire," which was filmed in the Kibale Forest National Park. It fascinated us with chimpanzees. However, we quickly discovered that Uganda has so much more to offer! We saw all the wild animals up close, feeling like we were in a live National Geographic episode. Observing hundreds of animals eating, feeding their babies, playing, or hunting was incredible. Uganda's beautiful landscapes, safety, rich culture, and kind people made our visit extraordinary. Every forest and safari we visited was breathtaking, and Murchison Falls is a must-see! Chimpanzee and gorilla trekking were the highlights of our trip and truly unforgettable experiences. We never imagined we would be so close to gorillas, even being touched by them and watching them play nearby! The rangers' communication ensures you'll see these magnificent animals, and your safety is their top priority with armed security walking with you. Uganda is a must-see country. In our opinion, while all African countries are impressive, Uganda offers it all. You can see lions, leopards, crocodiles, hippos, beautiful birds, fascinating primates, and stunning landscapes. Choosing Mukisa Safaris was the best decision we made, as they ensured every day of our trip went perfectly! We highly recommend Uganda and Mukisa Safaris.Show more

For tours departing after April 10th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Mukisa Safaris Uganda. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 62 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
