  am unsure about sleeping arrangements. are the tents semi-permanent? is bedding provided?

    During the Salkantay Trek with TreXperience, we provide high-quality camping equipment and handle all sleeping arrangements for you. Tents: We use spacious semi-permanent dome tents (set up by our team before your arrival each day). Each tent comfortably fits two travelers, with enough room for backpacks and gear. Bedding: All sleeping pads and warm sleeping bags are provided. We also include extra blankets at higher altitudes for added comfort.

  I'm not sure if the entrance to machu pichu is included as it is. I'm confused about the other 2 options. Do you have any insights of how is the weather during the dates that I've selected

    This package includes your entrance ticket to Machu Picchu. When booking in advance, we usually include Circuit 2, which allows access to most of Machu Picchu's key areas during the guided tour. Once your reservation is confirmed, we will arrange for your access. September is considered the end of the dry season, and the weather is generally stable and favorable for trekking. Expect mostly sunny days with clear skies. Rain is rare during this season.

  Will the train be the vistadome train or open visibility and what scale is hotel hopefully minimum 4 star? We want the best views from train. Also do you schedule flights as well.

    Yes, we do include the Vistadome train for your return journey from Machu Picchu, which offers panoramic windows for the best scenic views. The hotel we typically use in Aguas Calientes is a 3-star property, but we can upgrade to a 4-star option if preferred. Regarding flights: unfortunately, we don't handle flights, so you'll need to arrange those independently.

    I am interested in 5 days but not glamping. The primary focus would be Micchu Picchu short Peru experience with to 104km then trek up. To include the vistadome train and Macchu picchu ticket entrance. I am hearing the tickets are sold out. Do you have tickets?

    Here's a suggested itinerary: Day 1: Arrival in Cusco in the morning - Afternoon City Tour. Day 2: Super Sacred Valley Tour. Day 3: Short Inca Trail. Day 4: Machu Picchu Guided Visit. Day 5: Transfer Out. Please let me know your travel dates so we can check availability—especially for Machu Picchu and 4-star hotel options.

  if we are not experienced hikers would this be a suitable experience? Or would it be better to choose another option? (5 day Salkantay to Machu Picchu)

    The 5-day Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu is one of the most scenic and rewarding routes, but it's also moderately to highly challenging, especially due to the altitude and long hiking days. It can be done by people without hiking experience, as long as you're in good physical condition and up for the adventure. However, if you're looking for something more comfortable or less demanding, we'd be happy to recommend other great options — such as the Short Inca Trail (2 days) or Salkantay trek 4 days to Machu Picchu, which offer a wonderful experience with less intense hiking.

  How many people in the tents and the hut? What sleeping bags do you recommend with consideration of how cold at night during the trek? Are there toilets during the camping? Will porters and horseman carry our backpacks for the whole trek? What equipment and clothing do you recommend we bring?

    For this trek, we provide double occupancy tents (2 people per tent). We recommend a 4-season sleeping bag that can handle temperatures down to -10°C (14°F). We provide clean, private eco-toilets at each campsite. Horses will carry your duffel bag (up to 7 kg or 15 lbs). Recommended clothing includes layered clothing, base layers, fleece or down jacket, waterproof jacket, hiking pants, warm hat, gloves, thermal socks, sturdy hiking boots, daypack, reusable water bottle, sun protection, flashlight, camera, and personal medication.

  I am really interested in this hike, but noticed it is not avaliable for the dates that work for me. I was wondering if there is any possibility you'd be able to squeeze an extra person on the hike departing either on the 22nd or 23rd of May 2025, please?

    Currently, we already have group departures scheduled for May 23 and May 25. However, I must inform you that entry tickets to Machu Picchu are already sold out for May. We can still offer you the Salkantay Trek experience without the visit to Machu Picchu on the last available date. Additionally, we can offer you the opportunity to switch and join the 4-Day Inca Trail departure on May 25, where entry to Machu Picchu is still available.

    We include glamping and andean huts in our salkantay hike and then on the nigth 4th you will have a 3 stars hotel accomodatuion with buffet breakfast included, in this way you will have an autenthic and comfortable andean trekking experience.

    If you are a solo traveler, I suggest joining one of our groups to ensure your booking is confirmed. To get to Cusco, you will need to take an international flight to Lima first and then book a domestic flight from Lima to Cusco.
