What time is the shuttle meeting people at the airport in Sofia? What about day by day? What are the hours? How long are we gonna be inside the bus between countries?

The airport shuttle is available on day 1 of the tour between 5am and 23:30. As a general guide: * The day usually starts around 7:30–8:00 AM. * The tour generally finishes around 6:00–7:00 PM. * For each stop, you will generally have around 1–2 hours to explore. * You will also have approximately 2 hours of free time during the day. * Bus journeys between destinations are generally around 2–3 hours, with regular stops along the way.

Your age range stops at 59; that is dicriminatory, but I understand why you might have an age cap. I am 73, walk over 4 miles a day, am very fit and active. I am a top ski racer in the 70+ age group. Is your Best of Balkans tour open to active people over 59, like me?

The 59-year-old age is not a cut-off, and you are very welcome to book the tour. It is simply a guideline indicating the typical age range of passengers who travel with us. We would be happy to welcome you on the tour!

We noticed there is an age limit for this tour. One of us is 67. Is that a problem for us to join the tour?

Our Balkans tour groups have mixed demographics with most passengers aged 40-65+. You're more than welcome to join the tour provided you're comfortable with the pace of the itinerary.

Can you please tell me how many have already booked for this tour for Sept 24 AND how many travelers on average? I don't mind going with up to 30 but, from plenty of previous experiences, 40 would be too many for me.

There are currently 25 passengers booked in total for the Sept 24 departure. The average group size for departures in September is 24. We may receive more bookings as the departure date approaches, though currently it appears this departure is unlikely to reach 40 passengers.

Could you provide an estimated time we would be arriving back to Sofia on day 9? I'm trying to figure out whether I should get a flight back from Sofia on day 9 or whether I should book one leaving the day after. From my understanding there is no hotel booking included in the tour for the day 9?

Can I land at any time on the first day of the tour and still get a transfer from the airport to the hotel?

My friend may travel with me but she may not. I would like to book a single room (not sharing with anyone by myself). I did not see that option. Please help.

The single supplement option is not available unfortunately, solo passengers may book on a shared room basis and share the room with another solo traveller of the same gender.

I am interested in this tour, but I am a solo female traveller, and I don't want to stay in a room with a stranger. This itinerary ends in Sofia around 6-6:30 PM. You may book your return flights accordingly. Alternatively, you may book an itinerary which is nearly identical and extends the tour by an additional night in Sofia, ending around 1 PM.

How do you travel between these countries? And is it included in the price?

You will be traveling between the cities in an air-conditioned coach, which is included as part of the tour package.

Is this trip suitable for families with kids as young as six? Also, are there any discounts for younger kids?

It was a large group of many nationalities, 44 of us, which I thought was just too much to load on a single guide. Nonetheless, it was largely a fun group. The itinerary was hectic but we got to see and experience a lot. Border crossings were very slow in many places but can't be helped when travelling by road from country to country. Overall, a great trip. One horrible accommodation throughout the trip - the so called 5 stars hotel in Albania was a total fail. Fortunately, our room's air-conditioning was working and the bathroom was not flooded after a shower. We heard at breakfast that some of our fellow travellers had no functioning air-conditioner in their rooms and their bathroom flooded after a shower. What horror. Luckily it was only an overnight stay.Show more

You cover an impressive amount of cities in this trip, it is fast paced and you only get a few hours in each city, which is enough to see highlights but maybe not long enough to relax there. Each city visit includes a guided tour then free time. Accomodation was pretty good on the whole. Not whole of the Balkans allows smoking indoors so be prepared for that.Show more

One of the Best Tour Packages which I have been. Amazing Tour Guides Boyan was extraordinary, very knowledgeable, very funny but true experiences and history which he explained. He also details about stops what to expect in Hotels and Toilet facilities en route. Most of the Hotels was very good. Novotel Sofia was high class & Panorama Trebinje was astonishingly beautiful. Aqualina Ohrid stunning location but many things like cupboards etc is broken and unfinished (please kindly fix it). Belgrade Abba Hotel Bathroom water coming out as floors needs proper draining inclination but otherwise hotel was good. Sky Bar in Panormika Skopje was stunning. Breakfast was 5*. On Hotels had issues which I hope they will fix soon.Show more

I am in excellent physical condition, am not overweight, have never been a smoker, drink occasionally, and have always exercised daily (I can do 3 minute plank). I don't have any medical conditions and have never had any problems with my heart or diabetes. Would you be willing to make an age exception for me?

  I can see now that there are no private rooms left to book for a single traveler on the September 26 trip and I absolutely can not risk sharing a room with someone who snores. I did that a few years ago and didn't sleep most nights on the tour. Can never risk taking a gamble like that ever again.
