Thank you for providing your input and I am very sorry you disagree with our cancellation policy. You began registering for this tour several times, NOT through TourRadar, starting in July but finally made your deposit payment in mid-October (also not through TourRadar), that is correct. You did agree to the cancellation policy twice. The first time when you made the $250 deposit payment as well as agreeing to it when you completed our full terms and conditions. We are very transparent with our policies which are also located on our website. Payment Schedule: $250 per person deposit is required to secure your spot. The final balance is due 60 days prior to your trip start date. Full payment is due at the time of booking for day hikes and for multi-day trips starting 60 days or less from today. "The Following is Applicable to Participant Cancellation of a Multi-Day Trip: • If a Participant (or Participant Group) cancels or leaves a Trip for any reason 60+ days prior to the first date of the Trip as identified in the published Trip itinerary, a full refund minus $50 per person will be issued if Participant cancels within 10 days of his or her first payment. After 10 days from Participant’s first payment, we will retain a $100 per person cancellation fee." Costs for trips begin once any reservation is made: Adventure Consultants' time fielding questions, making the reservation(s), cancelling the reservation(s)...etc. Our guest support review the registration information and (in some cases) contact guests to ask questions, clarify the demands of the trip, make training recommendations and more. This normally begins within 2 days of a new booking. Our lodging manager readies the request for securing campsites (even if it's months away) so that date is reserved on our end and the application can't get missed. Our logistics crew is continually syncing current reservations with capacity so we can be 100% there will be no problems accommodating additional guests. So when someone books, they make adjustments, and when someone cancels, they make adjustments. Our policies are clear and threatening social media posts to get your way is generally not received well. Best, Ann Marie

Hello. Id like to go on the classic Grand Canyon hike. I have a few questions. I will be traveling with my father. He just turned 80.... he's in better shape than me. so, I'm not worried, but I do want to take a tour this time (he's hiked Grand Canyon a few times in the past...) to help with having campsites more available. What type of assistance do we have with setting up camp? What will we be required to carry ourselves? Do you have some things already down at camps? How much weight will be carrying? I'm looking for a trip that will not require a lot of weight to be carried in and out by us. Hope that makes sense... Thanks. Julie

The Grand Canyon Classic, Dec 9-11, 2023 would require a back weight of 30-35 pounds per person. Each person would be carrying a backpack, tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, their personal items and clothing, water, snacks and about 5-7 pounds of the group food and/or cooking equipment. Campsites are not set up prior to the guests arrival. Guests do set up their own tents and gear, guides will assist as needed. Due to a temporary trail closure, this trip will be operated as an out-and-back hike on the South Kaibab Trail between December 1, 2023 and April 14, 2024. We will descend the South Kaibab Trail (same as normal Day 1). Then we will spend two nights at Bright Angel Campground, enjoying a wonderful day hike on Day 2 to a high plateau over the Colorado River, or to a charming desert oasis. On Day 3, we will ascend the South Kaibab Trail back to the South Rim (7.5 miles, 4800 feet elevation gain). This change increases the difficulty of this trip to a Level 4 during this time.
