    Golden Circle & Waterfalls

You'll start early with pickup from your Reykjavik accommodation for the Golden Circle route. First stop is Thingvellir National Park, where you can see the actual point where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates meet. After that, you'll head to the Haukadalur geothermal area to check out Geysir hot springs and watch the geothermal activity. From there, it's on to Gullfoss waterfall, and then you'll walk behind Seljalandsfoss cascade before moving to Skógafoss. You'll finish the day near Vík with a chance to catch Northern lights if the conditions cooperate.

  2. Day 2

Black Sand Beach & Glacier Lagoon

The day begins at Reynisfjara black sand beach where you'll see basalt columns and sea stacks offshore, plus there's a basalt column cave to explore. Later, you'll head east through lava fields and glacier sands to reach Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. Here you can spend time watching icebergs of different sizes float in the lagoon and wash up on the nearby beach. You'll stay overnight near Skaftafell with another opportunity to spot Northern lights if conditions are right.

    Glacier Walk & Ice Cave

After your safety briefing and gearing up, you'll hike for about 45 minutes across the glacier to reach an ice cave where you'll explore and photograph the ice formations with time to wander around. Certified glacier guides lead the way to keep everyone safe throughout. Once the glacier portion is done, you'll take a scenic drive back to Reykjavik with stops at places like Fjadrarglj<bof><eof>úfur Canyon. You should arrive back in Reykjavik between 19:00 and 22:00, though the exact time depends on weather conditions.

Reviews About This Operator

Despite how badly things started, our tour turned out to be excellent. First of all we were told we were getting a voucher for the airport bus pick up and never received it in the email. Fortunately, our name was on a list and the Fly bus people graciously gave us tickets without the voucher. Then when we went to join our Bamba Experience tour at the bus stop, there was no Bamba Experience tour bus. Apparently, Bamba transferred our seats to another tour operator who was leading a tour of combined Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and English tourists and didn't bother to tell us. Fortunately for us, the tour leader didn't leave without us and called out our names eventually. Our tour company was listed as miscellaneous on his sheet of customers. It was little bit annoying that instead of the English speaking tour leader we were promised, we got consecutive translations, often getting the English part after whatever was being described was long gone. However, the tour leader was very knowledgeable and although it was difficult to communicate with the other members of the tour at times, we did manage to share experiences and stories as best we could. The tour locations were magnificent but we had one other complaint. This tour was listed as being suitable for ages 18 to 99 but I doubt whether many older people could have managed.

The whole trip was organized perfectly from start to finish. All of the ferry transfers happened on time and all of the hotels we stayed in were absolutely lovely. The travel agents were very responsive when I contacted them with questions. The organization of this trip made traveling very easy.

Our average group usually consists of participants between the age 20-55 years. We do get a lot of solo travelers joining our tours, as well as families and friends. If you have difficulties participating in any of the activities included in the tour, for example, a glacier activity, you are more than welcome to skip it. You can explore your surroundings in the meantime or wait elsewhere. Our guide should be able to drop you off at a nearby place where there are some services available. The 19th of August is not available, but the 18th is.
