Is this tour suitable for people who have not ridden horses before or in my case for many years and if there is an alternative to riding( eg hiking the distance). Is there a weight limit for the riders? Are the horse well cared for?

Yes the animals are very well cared for by our local ranch owner and her family. They have riding horses and pack horses that are the beating heart of their business and their families so you can rest assured they are treated ethically. We have two Tian Shan Mountains Itineraries: Trek the wild Tian Shan Mountains of Kyrgyzstan Sat 4 Jul - Mon, 13 Jul 2026 This itinerary is mostly trekking and you will have support horses to carry your gear into the mountains, with a few opportunities to ride throughout the tour. Horse riding in the wild Tian Shan Mountains of Kyrgyzstan Sat 18 Jul - Tue, 28 Jul 2026 This itinerary is a riding holiday which will have you in the saddle for 4-6 hours at a time, taking the same route as the trek but exclusively on horseback. Both are excellent adventures and would be amazing for a group of 3 to join! It will be important to have height and weight for each rider to be sure that you are paired with the correct horse and that you will be as comfortable as possible throughout your journey.

For tours departing after July 1st, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Yellowwood Adventures Ltd. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
