Do I have a choice of hotel, say 4*?

We do not have options for hotels that are used on the tours. As this is a National Geographic Journey tour the accommodations are upgraded stays.

We want to take the one day hike up the mountain to the Machu Pichu site. How strenuous is this hike? We walk several miles a day here in Denver, Colorado. We are 76 and 79 in excellent condition.

The trek consists of 11KM and is roughly 4-5 hours of hiking. Hiking starts at 9am on this day. Your trek will take you to about 2700 M above sea level. Hiking will be on uneven ground with portions of incline and decline.

I would like to understand better the difference between this tour Journeys: Explore Machu Picchu National Geographic Journeys and The Machu Picchu Adventure tour

The main difference is the accommodation. National Geographic Journeys style tours have nicer hotels and a few more included activities as well as an included arrival transfer. Both are great trips but if you wanted a bit nicer accommodation then the Explore Machu Picchu would be the better option.

Can I request a single room, and how can I arrange it?

We can arrange a single room at an additional cost. Please select 'Book Now' on the tour reservation page, and we will add the 'My Own Room' option for you.

What are the conditions for booking and cancelling a tour?

You can make a booking via our website or by contacting us directly. The cancellation policy includes specific terms depending on how many days prior to departure the cancellation occurs, involving certain percentages of the travel fare reimbursed.

Can you please advise if this trip has 2 spaces available?

April 5 departure has only 1 spot available, 1 more person only. We have 2 spots available for April 19th departure and good availability on April 21st departure.

How is the group size determined for the tours?

Group sizes vary depending on the tour but are typically kept small to ensure a personal and immersive experience. Please refer to the specific tour details for more information.

What insurance policies are recommended for tours?

It is mandatory for all travelers to have Emergency Medical Travel Insurance that covers medical expenses, emergency evacuation, and repatriation to their home country. The combined coverage should be at least USD 200,000. We recommend upgrading to an all-inclusive policy that includes cancellation and interruption to protect your investment.

Do you provide transfers to/from the airport?

We do include an arrival transfer, however, the departure transfer isn't included. Once you have held a space with us we will check the system and see how much it would be to organise a transfer back to the airport for 2 of you at the end of your trip.

Travelling through the Andes and hiking the last 7 miles of the Inca Trail were priceless.This trip gives a broad overview of a LOT but obviously to really get into more detail on any given region /city/cultural aspect requires a longer stay. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 65 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and National Geographic Expeditions with G Adventures will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
