I will be finishing an overland bush safari in Victoria Falls on April 5th. Then plan to do the Garden Route and Capetown. I am interested in a tour with you and wonder if you also go from Port Elizabeth to Capetown?

Our weekly group tours depart Cape Town on a Monday morning, we can however offer you a private tour from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town. If you prefer a group tour we do have a guaranteed departure on Monday, 6 April and would love to have you along.

For the tour starting on December 7th, is it too late for the optional excursion: Whale watching boat trip (in season, July - November), R1440?

Whale watching season is from July to November so there would be no guarantees that the whales will still be around on 7 December. More to the end of whale watching season we keep in close contact with the whale watching company to find out how their sightings have been so if the whales decide to leave the Bay later we continue offering whale watching until the sightings have decreased. I can however make a note that you are interested in this activity so if the whales are still around you can add this as this an optional activity.

would we be able to take this tour if it has an age limit of 65. Please advise why the age limit?

This is an active tour and it is best suited towards those who like to be on the move, and can comfortably walk, carry luggage, get in and out of the vehicle frequently. The group is a mix between backpackers and guest house clients, and ages can range from 18 to 65 however we do manage bookings on a case by case basis and with both of your being fit walkers it sounds like you would be just fine on the tour and we would love to have you along!

We are 66,65 and 60 we all can walk at least 5 miles. Can we go?

Everything went as planned, and there was quite a bit of flexibility on the extra activities, even to the last minute. We chose the upgraded lodgings which were beautiful but after seeing the backpackers accommodations we might have chosen those instead for the comeraderie. Even our driver and guide hadn't seen such a great herd of elephants ever. What else is there to report? Very good accommodations, wines and dinners, best co-travellers aged from 32 to 64 years and a good guide and driver. From start to finish, my fantastic experience in South Africa was due to the team at Earthstompers Adventures. Prior to the holiday office staff had extreme patience organising the private Cape Town tour to my requirements and the tour guide, Rochelle, immediately realised that I wanted to pack as much as possible into my few days in Cape Town and more than accommodated that with knowledge and good humour. The Garden Route Tour was well designed and the tour guide, Christine, made it fun taking into account the needs of each individual in the group. Her amazing photographic skills maximised every potential opportunity to take photos at scenic and iconic spots. She was a constant source of information throughout the tour and was probably the best tour guide that I have come across in of all of my travels encouraging me to face my fears and do the highest bridge bungy jump. Our group of five solo travellers from all walks of life enhanced the experience and we left the tour one big family! In Cape Town I stayed at the boutique hotel Derwent House which had such an eclectic environment that there was always something different to look at and all of their staff were so friendly that it was a true home from home. The accommodation on the Garden Route tour was incredible, each unique with affable hosts at each. If I meet anyone who wishes to explore the Cape I will certainly be recommending Earthstompers.Show more

- Cholera - Recommended for South Africa. Ideally 2 weeks before travel.
- Tuberculosis - Recommended for South Africa. Ideally 3 months before travel.
- Hepatitis B - Recommended for South Africa. Ideally 2 months before travel.
- Yellow fever - Certificate of vaccination required if arriving from an area with a risk of yellow fever transmission for South Africa. Ideally 10 days before travel.
Visa
- Unfortunately we cannot offer you a visa application service. Whether you need a visa or not depends on your nationality and where you wish to travel. Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.
- Here is an indication for which countries you might need a visa. Please contact the local embassy for help applying for visas to these places.
Payment information
- For any tour departing before May 26th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after May 26th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Earthstompers Adventures. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 35 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Earthstompers Adventures will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "Earthstompers Adventures" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
Cancellation Policy
- Your money is safe with TourRadar, as we only pay the tour operator after your tour has departed.
- TourRadar is an authorized Agent of Earthstompers Adventures. Please familiarize yourself with the Earthstompers Adventures payment, cancellation and refund conditions.
