Gareth was a fantastic guide and really helped make the tour very fulfilling and memorable. I can tell that he is very passionate about what he does and really cared about making the experience superb for all on the tour. We did and saw so much in just 6 days, and everything included in that tour was worth doing, which is not always the case for organized tours. The food we ate during the tour was all delicious, and the self-driving safari experience in the Addo Elephant National Park was awesome. Gareth's many years of guiding experience of this tour were evident in the quality of the self-guided safari, for which he was the driver. Gareth, thank you for making this tour such a wonderful adventure that I will always cherish.

That's true and an unique experience. Even our driver and guide hadn't seen such a great herd of elephants ever. What else is there to report? Very good accommodations, wines and dinners, best co-travellers aged from 32 to 64 years and a good guide and driver. He drove fast - and there were many miles to drive, which of course took a long time. That was not so good about this tour.
I had an amazing tour! Gareth was amazing and knows what he is doing. He goes all the way out to please us! The itenary is good too. I loved all the accomodation chosen!

I just want to say that it was amazing. We were astonished by how good all the food was. It was a steal! The sights and activities were excellent, including the company of the travel mates.
Lastly, our guide Gareth, I really liked his attitude and how straightforward he was, a good sense of humor too.
Couldn't recommend this tour of the Garden Route enough, 10/10!
This was a great tour !! I loved every moment of it ! The highlight for me would have been the bungy jumping which was just insane !

Overall, I loved South Africa. However I do not think you can classify this tour as 8 days.. Essentially it’s 4 official days.. so don’t over spend on the “8” day tour... your first and last days are …Overall, I loved South Africa. Essentially it’s 4 official days.. so don’t over spend on the “8” day tour... your first and last days are in Cape Town (by yourself), then there are two days that are extra options (which you can book yourself because it is extra)
However, our tour guide was so awesome- and I learnt a lot! I would recommend this tour as it’s gorgeous- but only for the 4 day tour or maybe the 6 day tour.

It was a great experience. I just wish I had known a little more about the activities beforehand. The meals provided were nice; but' when we stopped and went to a restaurant not provided for, it see…It was a great experience. I just wish I had known a little more about the activities beforehand. The meals provided were nice; but' when we stopped and went to a restaurant not provided for, it seemed like we did not have a whole lot of choice but to eat there. It would have been nice to have more choices- either be on our own to eat or have a group decision on where to eat.

Gareth is a very knowledgable person.
For the Kruger trip I recommend to use a flight rather the 6hrs van trip from Joburg. It s very exhausting and a long dtive

Organisation & communication for the trip was shockingly bad. The tour itself was alright - if we would have stuck 1:1 to the itinerary, it would have been probably a lot worse since some of the point…Organisation & communication for the trip was shockingly bad. The tour itself was alright - if we would have stuck 1:1 to the itinerary, it would have been probably a lot worse since some of the points were rather boring (Aloe Vera factory for example). Instead, I was happy to have Gareth who actively made suggestions and was flexible towards the feeling of the group members.
As fun as he was, he unfortunately also varied a lot in mood which resulted in him lashing out on me a couple of times which kind of ruined some days for me a little.
Other than that, accommodations weren't really great; dirty, broken facilities with everything but a nice atmosphere. We did research and actually found a lot nicer places for less money which might be an option for future tours.
Our most enjoyable stay was in the house with Mark since he was a very kind and welcoming person and it felt a little like coming home after our long days.
I was very disappointed by the fact that I had been given written confirmation that rooms would be separated by gender and to my surprise, this wasn't always the case. I hadn't even been given the honesty of whether something can be done about it or not but instead just left in silence for us to find out ourselves.
So all in all it was a nice trip, though I'd rather rent a car and do it myself next time.

Overall a great tour. We saw a lot in the 6 days. The organisation was excellent. Our tour guide Gareth told us a lot about the different places during the ride and also had a good sense of humour.

This tour was amazing. So much was packed into 6 days, but it never felt like we were rushing through things.
This trip was one of the best trips of my life! All the stops, meals & accommodations were spectral! Gareth made the trip out of the world.

The title is misleading because:
A. you do NOT get 11 days of tour, but only 7 effective days.
The first days the driver will just pick you up from the airport and drop off to the hotel!! Uber …The title is misleading because:

The first days the driver will just pick you up from the airport and drop off to the hotel!! Uber would have been enough.
Then you have other 2 FREE days in Cape town where you are alone, and you have to pay for everything you do (such as the hop-on hop off tour).
The last morning the driver will pick yo uup from the hotel and drop you off to the airport.
Therefore 4 days are not used as a real tour!!!
BE AWARE OF IT.
B: you do NOT get 4 days at the kruger park, but just one day!
Details: the first day is used to drive from Johannesburg to the park, and the last day to go back to Johannesbourg. Out of the 2 remaining days, only ONE day is spent inside the kruger park! the other day is spent between two private lodges.
We have met people that were staying inside the park in nice hotels/accommodations and got to experience 4 full days in the kruger park.
We haven't!
C): 2 full days LOST inside the van. We could have fly.
During the tour we have been asked to fly from Cape Town to Johannesbourg, then to sleep in johannesbourg and, the day after, a driver has driven us to kruger park. Well....it has been a waste of time and money, because we could have flew from Cape Town to Kruger!!!!
we would have saved:
- a full day wasted in the van
- a night spent in the hotel in Johannesbourg
-the cost of the driver to go to the kruger park.
Attention please: It is clear that the tour company, called CAPE XTREME, wanted to make money from us adding activities such as the night spent in the hotel in Johannesburg and the 2 days driver activity. As example imagine to be in New York, drive to Washington, sleep in Washington, and then fly back to New Jersey!!!!!!!
4. Same situation has happened on the way back: we could have book the flight from the kruger park, to save one day, but CAPE XTREME has forced us to spend one full day in the van to go back to Johannesburg to sleep there! As mentioned above, we have wasted one full day of tour and we have wasted money for the driver and the night in the hotel
5: Additional bedroom not required.
We were 3 guys. We have asked to sleep in one bedroom to save money. it has been denied us because we have been told that the rooms were only double. However in all the hotels the rooms had multiple beds: At the lodge near the kruger park our room had 4 beds!! but we had 2 different rooms with a total of 6 beds! Same in Cape Town. It is obvius that the tour company just wanted to generate additional business for the hotels, forcing us to get 2 bedrooms instead of one. We could have save lot of money using only one room.
NOT recommended.

Great Tour... Gareth was an outstanding Guide. Only complaint. Van had bald tires and we had two flats. Did a day tour a few days later. Same van with bald tire son the right side. The trip was absolutely great, we had the occasion to see a lot, and the guide was very prepared and very good!

The tour showed me the maximum of places in the given time period, we could hug a giraffe and elephants, learned a lot abt them and I was able to jump into a waterfall at my birthday....

Special thanks to our tour guide Gareth who was very sensitive to our preferences and desires, extremely cautions on the road to keep us safe and very punctual and available at all time. He did his best to make us happy and we appreciate it a lot. We loved also our staying with Liez in Sedgefield - she cooked us delicious meals and was so hospitable and kind. The only thing we did not like was the Backpackers lodge in Saint Aghulas - bed linen was not changed and smelt awful and we used our jackets to cover at night , also food for which we had to pay extra, was really poor.

So much covered in only 4 days time! And so worth the price for it all! Absolutely marvellous scenery along the way and the activities were awesome! Some of the most fulfilling 4 days of my life!
