Prior to the holiday office staff had extreme patience organising the private Cape Town tour to my requirements and the tour guide, Rochelle, immediately realised that I wanted to pack as much as possible into my few days in Cape Town and more than accommodated that with knowledge and good humour.
The Garden Route Tour was well designed and the tour guide, Christine, made it fun taking into account the needs of each individual in the group. Her amazing photographic skills maximised every potential opportunity to take photos at scenic and iconic spots. She was a constant source of information throughout the tour and was probably the best tour guide that I have come across in of all of my travels encouraging me to face my fears and do the highest bridge bungy jump. Our group of five solo travellers from all walks of life enhanced the experience and we left the tour one big family!
In Cape Town I stayed at the boutique hotel Derwent House which had such an eclectic environment that there was always something different to look at and all of their staff were so friendly that it was a true home from home. The accommodation on the Garden Route tour was incredible, each unique with affable hosts at each.
If I meet anyone who wishes to explore the Cape I will certainly be recommending Earthstompers.

The 6 Days Garden Route & Addo Group Tour took us through breath-taking places; we enjoyed great food, beautiful as well as unique accommodations, and we had a lot of fun along the way. I was a bit skeptical about joining a group tour; which is quite out of character for me, but I always felt super comfortable, sometimes I may even say "liberated”. We were really lucky with the people on our group, all super friendly and nice, but we were even more lucky with our tireless tour guide Christine, who played a major part in creating a relaxed and fun atmosphere from the very beginning. She provided impressively detailed practical information at every stop along the route, she would be ready (and able) to help with any specific request and would always be up for a chat or a laugh with anyone in the group; I really value how she was able to pass on to us her energy and positive vibes. Also, she and her colleagues at Earthstompers were clearly well-liked by the people running the accommodations we stayed at, which I’m sure helped in receiving an even warmer welcome every time. I think the price is totally worth the experience; I would definitely recommend (and already have) this tour, and based on this experience, I would surely book other tours with Earthstompers Adventures when I'm in South Africa again.

The tour itself is well organised, packed with activities but not overloaded and some are optional so if you're not feeling adventurous you can do something else, but I highly recommend signing up for as much as possible! The accommodation, food and places you visit are spectacular, you'll make some like-minded new friends along the way and leave with lekker memories.

I can genuinely say that this tour and the guide Christine are worth five stars! The 6-day tour was really amazing and it was an experience to remember. I felt that we saw a lot of the beautiful garde…I can genuinely say that this tour and the guide Christine are worth five stars! The 6-day tour was really amazing and it was an experience to remember. I felt that we saw a lot of the beautiful garden route in a relatively short amount of time without feeling rushed from place to place. The overnight accommodations were really good as well. The backpackers' hostels were all very nice and clean. I especially enjoyed all the local food that was made for dinner there: every night something different and it was all delicious. Also, Christine is really great. She does an exceptionally great job guiding the tour. She is super excited to tell you all about the landscape while driving and all the cities/small towns. Christine has lots of funny and interesting stories to tell, it will never be boring! If you have any questions about anything basically, she is willing to tell you all about it or do some research for you to help you out.
All together: I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone, it was awesome! :)

This is where I met Christine!
I am so grateful to have had Christine as my tour guide, she was fantastic! Such a happy, bubbly person. Nothing was ever too much, she catered to everyone's needs. She had great knowledge of the place, shared some interesting and fun facts and showed me a great time while in south Africa.
This is a great tour, would recommend to anyone interested a 100% and if you get Christine as your tour guide, your going to have a fantastic experience.

The accommodations were awesome, food was fantastic, and the itinerary was stellar. But what really made this tour exceptional was our tour guide, Christine.
A native to the western Cape and an adventurer herself, she went above and beyond to share with our group the nuances of the South African culture as well as her own experiences growing up in SA. Thanks to this tour with Christine and our awesome group, our understanding of the SA culture and the beauty of the Garden route is much richer than it would have been trying to navigate the route on our own.
Christine went above and beyond to make our trip special with her SA playlist, making sure the bus was clean everyday, sharing group photos with everyone, teaching us some Afrikaans, and even sharing with us things to avoid and do in Cape Town after the tour was over.
We can't thank Christine and Earthstompers enough for an incredible journey!

Earthstompers were first class with their pre-tour communication and this pattern continued throughout the entire trip.
The 6 day tour encompasses many must-see and must-do moments along the Garden Route. This ranged from being on a game drive in Addo National Park to a hike and canoe excursion in Wilderness, visiting Cango Caves in Oudtshoorn to straddling the point where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet at Cape Agulhas. There are plenty of adrenlin-fuelled optional extras for the more adventurous such as sky diving, sand boarding and bungee-jumping!
The accommodation was very good as were the meals in each of these places. Some of the locations where we stayed on the tour were jaw-droppingly impressive. In particular the accommodation in Wilderness was stunning with its close proximity to the beach and hypnotic sea views. However, each place had its own charm and unique experiences.
Transportation was in a 12 seater mini-bus but it never felt cramped, unsafe or too hot or cold. There were some journeys of around 4 + hours but they were fine as there were plenty of chances to stop and stretch your legs. Most stops were in local farms, supermarkets or places with exceptional viewpoints. So the journey became a major part of the experience too.
Our guide, Christine, was fantastic, wonderful, incredible and many many more superlatives. Her approachable, friendly manner made everyone feel welcome on the tour. She was always on hand to answer any questions, relay any information and also helped us brush up on our Afrikaans. This included introductions to some popular Afrikaans tunes! Throughout the 6 days, Christine gave us detailed history and points about certain locations and cultures. Over the years, I have been on many tours and can say, with hand on heart, Christine is without a doubt the best tour guide I have encountered. Nothing was too much for her and can't thank her enough for such enjoyable experience.
Earthstompers have created a well planned route and itinerary that you end the tour more than satisfied with what you have seen and experienced. My 600+ photos are a testament to this! The journey takes in the notable highlights of the Garden Route and more, but never do you feel rushed or feel like you have missed anything out. If you are looking for a short tour on this famed coastline, then I would highly recommend this trip. Shame I can only give 5 stars for this tour as it certainly was worthy of more!!

She was friendly, well organised and able to flex some of our daily itineraries to tailor to our needs. The included and optional activities on this tour are what attracted me initially but there is so much more! The safari day at Addo was the highlight. The backpacker accommodation at Oudtshoorn wasn't the best but everywhere else was great. Whilst the food (dinner) wasn't what you'd call gourmet, it was good, filling and did showcase local cuisine which is what you want. A great value tour and I would recommend it to anyone.

The activities were great and there is something to suit all ages. We chose dorm accommodation and we were really impressed by the hostels we stayed in. They were really clean, high standards compared to other countries. Nearly all the hostels had either cats or dogs so this was a plus for us as we love animals. Breakfast at each place was always good and the dinners we had were amazing (traditional meals like braai, cape malay curries, stews). Our tour guide was Christine and she was awesome. She made our holiday stress free, fun and really made an effort to look after us. Great local knowledge and recommendations throughout the tour. We had a great group and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip. We got a sense that Earthstompers take care of their customers but more importantly their own staff/family and we love their belief of not selling any tourist activities that involves touching/riding wild animals.

We chose the upgraded lodgings which were beautiful but after seeing the backpackers accommodations we might have chosen those instead for the comeraderie. The accommodation was of a good standard for a backpacking tour and the meals included were nice and catered for different needs such as vegetarians.
Our guide, Christine went above and beyond for the whole group, she was fantastic! She was chatty, knowledgable, fun and always had a smile on her face. Christine put huge effort into ensuring we all had an amazing experience, encouraged bonding and conversation among the group and took lots of memorable photos for us along the way. I truly could not fault her!

Earthstompers and Christine gave me so many amazing experiences on this trip. Christine's kindness, photography, stories, and narration of the trip were essential to my enjoyment of it. In addition, Earthstompers does a great job of choosing good accommodations and stops, recommending local places, having multiple activity options, and planning the activities in general. They do a good job of fostering a feeling of friendship/family during the trip, which was especially notable to me as I was traveling alone. I feel that they truly go above and beyond and I would 110% book with them again in the future.

The overall trip really hits a lot of the highlights of the Garden Route. Our guide Christine was unbelievable, she was very knowledgeable, funny, and very accommodating. Our guide Christine was unbelievable, she was very knowledgeable, funny, and very accommodating. Our group included people with dietary restrictions and each meal was made special for those which was a huge bonus. Christine was also able to fit in all the extras that people wanted to do and see and we were almost always on time, haha. The only regret I have is doing the zip-line, it was a bit disappointing for an adventurous person. Every thing else was fantastic all lodgings were very nice even the dorm styles. If you choose this tour just remember to bring a great attitude because the people are what really make this adventure amazing.

This was the trip of a lifetime, and Christine was what made it so. She loves South Africa, and it shows. Her enthusiasm for sharing her beautiful country just shines through, and it makes the tour experience extra special. She is excellent at what she does. In particular, she struck a perfect balance between structure and flexibility -- to the point that (while on the road) she arranged an on-the-fly parasailing(!) activity for the whole tour group (as an alternative to a usual activity) because one person expressed an interest. (And it was awesome.)
Great experience for larger groups, couples, and solo travelers (like me), of all ages, physical abilities, and levels of adventurousness. Each accommodation was great, had its own character, and highlighted features of each region. Arranged meals were well done and highlighted local food traditions.
I could go on and on. If you are considering this tour at all, just go ahead and hit the button. And when you climb into the Earthstompers van, say 'hi!' to Christine for me!

I did the 5 days group tour from Cape town to Port Elizabeth in June 2019. First of all, the tour guide, Christine was brilliant. She was not only very experienced and knowledgeable, she was very enth…I did the 5 days group tour from Cape town to Port Elizabeth in June 2019. First of all, the tour guide, Christine was brilliant. She was not only very experienced and knowledgeable, she was very enthusiastic about her job and she did her best to make everybody happy and to have an awesome time, which, I least for my part, she achieved. The tour was full of small surprises/details which made the experience extra enjoyable. Overall, for the price, the trip was top notch.
Regarding the accommodation, I picked the hostels option. In some of them the dorm room were a bit basic, but all had their own personality with very comfortable and charming common spaces, with fireplaces, and overall they were a very nice and interesting pick. Food wise the diners (which were included) was typical home cooked meal from South Africa and were amazing. Tour size was nice, we were 12, and I think that the maximum is 13. The bus was quite new and comfortable, and the tour leader drove safely.
As a downside it is that being in June, days were very short, and due to the limited sunlight, sometimes the trip felt a bit rushed/many hours in the road/compared with the time doing activities (but the time in all the stops was enough to do all the activities). However, this is not the fault of the tour company/tour leader, it would be the same with any trip.
