Overall, we did not have a great experience. First of all, we were picked up four hours late from our hotel with no communication at all. We were getting ready to book another hotel and arrange another trek. Secondly, six out of six of us got really bad altitude sickness at the Refuge at 3,200 meters, so we were unable to complete the hike and reach the summit. I am guessing this could be due to us having to rush the acclimatization hike on day one or our pace up the mountain being too fast.Show more

But Mohammed toom very good care and was patient. I was glad to join the tour although I'm the only person in the tour. My boyfriend and I booked this trip as part of a week long stay in and around Marrakech. It was the highlight of our trip. Our guide Mohammad was kind and friendly and took all of the group’s needs into account. He even lent me his coat when we reached the top! The trek itself isn’t easy, so be prepared for some long days of walking, altitude and steep terrain, but the effort is worth it. The refuge is quite basic, so bring supplies and don’t forget a head torch! We also enjoyed a lovely walk around the Imlil waterfalls with another guide called Abdul. Amazing trek! Definitely not easy but well worth. I went as a solo traveller with no issues. The first day was a little hike up a peak overlooking Imlil which was nice but could easily be skipped. Instead, I would spend that day going up Toubkal. I spent an extra night in the refuge because going up and down Toubkal in 2 days is quite intense, and I would recommend breaking it up (1 day ascent to refuge, 1 day up to Toubkal and back, 1 day return from refuge). Make sure you have hiking shoes too because it is steep, slippery and rocky. All the transport to and from Marrakech, food, water and accommodation was all sorted out provided without issue. My guide Ibrahim was an absolute legend and very nice, always looking out for me and willing to accommodate my wishes. Always felt safe and cared for.Show more

This did not seem to be a problem - but they also found another solo traveller last minute so paired us together anyhow. Our guide (Sameer) and cook/mule manager (Hassan) were excellent - really well organized, kind, and professional. Our 3-day Toubkal trek was a unique adventure for us. We were picked up from our hotel in Marrakech and headed to Imlil, through to the Azzaden Valley and the Tamsoult Refuge. Everything was easy and well organized. The staff at Imlil was so welcoming and accommodating. We loved the experience we had there, including the delicious food they gave us. While the trek was challenging, our tour guide chose the pace of the slowest person. We had the best scenery as we trekked through the Jebel Toubkal, the highest peak in the Atlas Mountain. Besides we enjoyed the beauty of waterfalls, Azzaden valley and other landscapes. The Berber guides and mules made this trek a true Moroccan adventure!Show more
