Can you advise on what is the departure time from Walvis Bay on 11.2.2024? I looked at the itinerary and this was a bit unclear.

The Start/Meeting point is in Swakopmund: Amanpuri Lodge. Tour start time: 08:00 on Day 1.

The USD 390.00 Adventure Pass covers the Okavango Delta Excursion, Chobe National Park Game Drive and Chobe River Cruise. Every adventure tour has an Adventure Pass which is paid to your tour leader in Africa at the beginning of the tour (or pre-paid by arrangement prior to your tour). This is separate and in addition to the Tour Price, and covers selected park entries, activities and excursions along the way where payment goes directly to the supplier to ensure local suppliers benefit directly from the income. Should you choose not to purchase/participate in the Adventure Pass then you will have free-time/leisure time at the base camp.

What are single supplement charges?

Single supplements are not applicable on Adventure tours. You will share a 2-man canvas tent (camping) or a twin-bed room (accommodated) with a fellow solo passenger of the same gender.

Is there an opportunity to climb the sand dunes on this tour?

The Desert & Delta Express does not visit the Dunes. From Swakopmund we travel north to Etosha and then return south to Windhoek before we travel into Botswana and the Okavango Delta, Chobe and Livingstone/ Victoria Falls. The Dunes are seen on either of the following tours: Cape Desert Safari 11 days, Cape Town - Windhoek and Desert Tracker, 19 days, Cape Town - Livingstone.

I would like to know if to travel in Namibia, Botswana, being a vaccinated covid travel, do I need PCR tests between countries? are there some travel restrictions which I have to observe? and also about Zambia in case going to Victoria Falls? What is the total price for a solo traveller?

We require all clients to be Fully Vaccinated against Covid-19. PCR testing at each border crossing is both time consuming and costly for non-vaxxed travellers. Clients need to be Fully Vaccinated or officially medically exempt with legitimate proof of medical exemption. This tour includes a visit to Victoria Falls on the Zambian side. If you want to enter Zimbabwe to see the Victoria Falls from that side you may need a Day Visa for Zimbabwe. We do not offer Single Supplements on any Adventure Tours. You will be charged the standard sharing price. Solo travellers will be paired to share a 2-man canvas tent/room with a fellow solo traveller of the same sex.

I wanted to ask about the covid test requirements on the border of each country. I read that travelers need a negative covid test result before entering each country on the trip's plan and I wonder if you will support us anyway in getting it on time?

Regarding PCR Testing: Should this still be a requirement at the time of your tour we will make the logistical arrangements accordingly and we may slightly alter the itinerary to ensure sufficient time for everyone to have their tests & get their results as needed.

Please advise if this is a camping tour and if so what do I need to bring with me?

This trip is indeed a camping tour and your tents and cooking equipment are provided - you need to bring a sleeping bag.

What time does the tour leave on Day 1?

There will be a pre-departure meeting the day before the tour begins at 18:00 and then you set off in the morning around 9am.

Payment information
- For any tour departing before June 17th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after June 17th, 2026, a minimum payment of $300 is required to confirm your booking with Acacia Adventure Holidays. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 61 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
