Itinerary
- Day 1
Chichen Itza
You'll head out at 4:00 AM for a full 12-hour excursion to Chichen Itza. With a specialized guide, you'll walk through this UNESCO site and explore Maya ruins that date back from 600 AD to 1200. The early start means you'll beat the crowds and have more time to take in the intricate details of the structures and surrounding jungle terrain.

- Day 2
Cancun to Playa del Carmen
You'll make your way to the Cancun bus station and catch a bus heading to Playa del Carmen. Buses leave every 30 to 45 minutes between 6:30 AM and 9:30 PM, so you have flexibility with timing. The journey takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes, giving you plenty of time to settle into your destination.
- Day 3
Playa del Carmen
This day is yours to do whatever interests you in Playa del Carmen. You could spend time on the beach, walk around the town, try local restaurants, or check out whatever attractions catch your eye. It's a chance to move at your own pace and get a feel for the area.
- Day 4
Playa del Carmen to Tulum
You'll head to the Playa del Carmen bus station and catch a bus to Tulum. Several departure options work well throughout the morning, including 9:16 AM, 9:25 AM, 9:51 AM, 10:00 AM, or 10:36 AM. The ride takes roughly an hour, so you'll have time to settle into Tulum by midday.

- Day 5
Tulum
You'll spend 5 hours on a jungle adventure in Tulum. Starting with a ride on shared ATV vehicles through lush trails, you'll then zip-line through the treetops and rappel down a 30-meter drop. After working up an appetite, you'll swim in a cenote and enjoy lunch with local flavors. Hotel pickup and dropoff are included, so transportation is handled for you.

Landmarks Tulum Cenote - Day 6
Tulum to Bacalar
You'll travel from Tulum to Bacalar on a 3-hour bus journey. Multiple departure times are available throughout the day, starting at 9:00 AM and going through 8:00 PM, so you can choose whatever fits your schedule. Getting to the bus station is on your own, but once you're there, the drive is straightforward.
- Day 7
Bacalar to Chetumal
From Bacalar, you'll catch a bus to Chetumal for a quick 1-hour ride. Buses run frequently with many options scattered across the day, from early morning departures starting at 12:15 AM through late evening at 11:00 PM. You'll need to get yourself to the bus station.
- Day 8
Chetumal to Caye Caulker
You'll travel by ferry from Chetumal to Caye Caulker with a stop in San Pedro. The ferry leaves at 10:00 AM and takes about 3 hours over the water. You'll need to show up 2 hours early for check-in procedures. Keep in mind this ferry only runs Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.



- Day 9
Caye Caulker
You have a free day to explore Caye Caulker at your own pace. The beaches are pristine, there are local restaurants to try, and the whole island has a laid-back Caribbean feel. Do whatever sounds good to you, whether that's relaxing on sand or wandering around town.

- Day 10
Caye Caulker
You'll head out on a 3-hour snorkeling trip in the Caye Caulker Marine Reserve. You can choose either a 10:30 AM or 1:30 PM departure. You'll visit three different snorkeling spots along the coral reef where you'll see nurse sharks, stingrays, and colorful tropical fish in clear water.

Caye Caulker to Belize City
You'll take a 45-minute ferry from Caye Caulker to Belize City. Ferries run throughout the day from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, giving you options depending on when you want to travel. You'll need to get to the ferry terminal on your own.
- Day 12
Belize City to San Ignacio
You'll board a shuttle heading from Belize City to San Ignacio. The ride takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes, departing at 1:30 PM. You'll need to get yourself to the meeting point for the transfer.
- Day 13
San Ignacio to Flores
From San Ignacio, you'll take a shuttle to Flores on a 3-hour journey departing at 3:00 PM. You'll make your own way to the meeting point where your transfer starts, then settle in for the drive through the region.

- Day 14
Flores
You'll start before dawn at 4:30 AM for an 8.5-hour trip to Tikal. Hiking among pyramids over 200 feet tall at sunrise, you'll hear monkeys, exotic birds, and small mammals as the jungle wakes up. It's an early morning but walking through these ancient Maya structures at dawn makes it worth the effort.

Rio Dulce to Lanquin
You'll travel by shuttle from Rio Dulce to Lanquin on a 7-hour journey leaving at 1:00 PM. Again, you'll be picked up from your accommodation and dropped off at your next location, making the transition straightforward.



- Day 17
Lanquin
You'll spend 10 hours exploring Kanba Caves and Semuc Champey. You'll hike through limestone caves with interesting formations and ancient Maya sites, then swim and tube in clear pools above a 300-meter limestone bridge. Later you'll visit waterfalls over 40 feet tall where the river drops below the bridge.

- Day 19
Panajachel to San Jorge La Laguna
You'll begin a 2-day stay with a Kakchiquel Indigenous family. When you arrive at Avenida Santander Zona 2 in Panajachel, you'll get instructions to take a public bus to San Jorge La Laguna where you'll stay with your host family. You'll have the chance to learn about their daily life, culture, and customs while being respectful in their home.

San Jorge La Laguna
You'll complete your homestay experience with a boat tour around Lake Atitlan. You'll visit colorful indigenous villages like San Pedro La Laguna, Santiago Atitlan, and San Antonio Palopo. Walking through local markets and meeting people, you'll learn about traditional crafts and ways of life. The boat brings you back to Panajachel by afternoon.

Antigua
You'll start a Pacaya Volcano trek at 2:00 PM that lasts 8 hours total. After hiking up the volcano slope for about two hours, you'll walk across dry lava with a moon-like landscape. If conditions allow, you might see active eruption activity and neighboring volcanoes through the clouds before descending the muddy slopes.

Copan
Your guide will pick you up at 8:00 AM for a comprehensive tour of Copan, known as the 'Mayan Paris'. You'll walk through these UNESCO-listed ruins declared a World Heritage Site in 1980 and see the spectacular architecture. After, you'll visit the sculpture museum where you can see a life-size replica of the Rosalila temple.

You'll experience volcano boarding at Cerro Negro starting at 1:00 PM. A 4x4 vehicle takes you to the base, then you'll hike to the summit to see the multi-colored active crater. After, you'll sled down the slopes back to the bottom while taking in views of surrounding forests and volcanic landscape.

Ometepe
You'll wake at 6:00 AM for a guided hike through the community. Walking past precious wood trees, you'll spot chaff monkeys and see Concepcion Volcano's landslide. The hike takes about 8 hours round-trip, climbing to the crater at 1,610 meters elevation. After descending, you'll catch the ferry back to San Jorge.

You'll swing through Monteverde's canopy on a zip-line tour with 14 different cables at heights of 75 to 150 meters. You'll do the big Tarzan swing, a 30-meter rappel, a 1-kilometer Superman cable, and a 175-meter underground Superman tunnel. You'll join a 4-hour walking tour of San Jose with a local guide learning about Costa Rican culture through architecture, history, and food. You'll check out Expression Park (the oldest in the city), see the Yellow House that's the Foreign Ministry, explore 19th-century landmarks like the National Liquor Factory and Metal Building, and browse Parque Nacional. Then you'll sample local food and delicacies at the historic Central Market that's been around for 120 years.
