So much to see but i unless you go a little early you travel to the historic capital to join the tour and then leave. Better to either start from the current capital or include a day there sightseeing. Accommodation ok but could have been better for the price. Restaurants suggested with the leader of the group were often a little more pricey but we had the option to do our own thing too. Tour leader was hit and miss and didnt cope very well when one day the weather was bad and we couldn't do what had been planned felt disorganised and wee went kept in the loop very well. No WiFi, Building site going until 9pm right up against my window. If that was not bad enough I was on the street front noise was horrendous. No bath mats and no glasses in some of the hotels. That aside the tour was well run and organised by our guide, he was helpful, knowledgeable and easy to approach. We stayed in different hotels and I just think, if I was doing this by myself, I would not have the opportunity to be in this hotels neither to be in these amazing places. Asked on October 28th, 2025We need to fly from Toronto to Guatemala, we would arrive in the late evening, and would we be able to get a ride to Antigua and a hotel. We want to fly in possibly on the 8th of Jan and have an extra day the 9th in Antigua, meeting with the group on the 10th in the evening. Is there a group shuttle?

We are able to arrange an airport transfer on arrival to meet any flights, no matter what time of arrival. Currently the cost would be CAD35 per person (minimum 2 people) - private transfer. We can also arrange pre tour hotel for CAD70 per night and post tour hotel for CAD85 per night.

Asked on June 14th, 2025Me and my mum are interested in the Mayan Encounter tour. However, we would be happy to end the tour on day 10 when it gets to Playa del Carmen as we would just check into a resort and stay there. I was wondering what would be the price if the itinerary is shortened.

Technically, yes, you can leave the tour early on Day 10. However, this would result in you voluntarily departing the tour early and therefore any of the missed service are not eligible for refund. The tour price per person would remain the same if you stayed for all 12 days of the tour or if you left early on Day 10.

We recommend using a backpack for your convenience, or a medium-sized suitcase if you prefer. A daypack is also essential for carrying everyday items. Space is limited on transportation, so there is a limit of one main piece of luggage per person. You will be responsible for carrying and handling your own luggage.
