If there are two of you in the booking, you will be roomed together as a couple. The "shared room" designation simply means that the room is shared between travellers in the same booking. This also applies to solo travellers, who will be sharing 1 room with another solo traveller of the same gender, since our standard room is a twin room. You will not be roomed with other travellers outside your party.

Which hotels do they stay in on this tour

For the Europe Highlights tour (27 September – 6 October 2026), we use a selection of 2–4 star hotels that are centrally located or close to public transport. Specific hotels may vary per departure, but the meeting point for this tour is: Meeting Point: BW Blu Hotel Roma Address: Largo Domenico De Dominicis, 4, 00159 Roma RM, Italy Meeting Time: 07:30 am Please note that hotel details are provisional and subject to change. The final confirmed hotel list and full tour program will be sent 5–10 days prior to departure.

My sister and I want to take this trip to celebrate our Master's degree. My sister's boyfriend has expressed interest in meeting us there and surprising her to propose. It would be amazing if me and my sister enjoyed the first 6 or 7 days and then my future brother in law arrived and took my place the last few days. Could this be possible?

I completely understand why you'd love to make this happen on the European Highlights tour. However, I do need to let you know that swapping travellers partway through the tour isn't permitted. For operational, insurance, and logistical reasons, each booking is tied to the confirmed passenger for the full duration of the trip. We're unfortunately not able to have one traveller leave and another join midway. That said, there may be another way to create a beautiful moment. Your sister's boyfriend could: *Join the tour from the beginning and keep the proposal a surprise during the trip. *Or meet you both in the final city after the tour ends, where they can plan a proposal during your post-tour stay. *Alternatively, he could book a separate but matching departure if timing allows, and coordinate privately while keeping it a surprise.

Which of the two options should she do: 1. Book a 'shared room' and if she is unable to get a family member to room with her, transfer to a single booking. OR 2. Book as a 'single' traveller and if she gets a family member or friend to room with her, she transfers to the 'shared' room.

Can you also tell me which area and hotel in Rome would tour begin and end.

Do you guys also help with airfare accommodations to and from the place the tour starts?

Epic trip! To see so many iconic places was amazing. Some boutique hotels were stuck in time with original features…quirky but beautiful. The craftsmanship we were constantly surrounded by was amazing. It included more meals than typical. Not for people with limited mobility who cannot walk at a fast pace and manage luggage. Fast pace and early mornings but was still worth. Advice…travel shoulder season if you can for a potentially smaller tour group and less touristy crowds. Leader and bus driver worked extremely hard. Include about $300 in tips total for guide and driver. Also budget for maybe $1000 in optionals for a couple…they are worth it. There are included extra experiences not mentioned… boat tours, local experiences that highlight the culture and some dinners with typical cuisine. Lunches typically are purchased at gas station/convenient store storps just because of the fast pace but some of the offer delicious meals…others might offer a packaged sandwich. We highly recommend this tour if you can meet the demands of the packed schedule. We were so impressed with the cities and sites we visited because your soon to turn the corner and find unexpected monumental sites. A solo travel needs to consider that they give you the option to share a room for a lower cost but don’t guarantee That higher cost could limit your ability to take part in paid optional dinners and experiences. Most people did most of the paid for optional experiences but most also skipped one or two based on interest. My favorite visits were to Austria and Switzerland. They take you to some popular cities but also some more authentic towns. I paid $2500 for tour but it cost closer to $4000 overall. I would do it again for sure. We are already planning for our next tour. Company and guide were highly efficient.Show more

  For your client, I would recommend to get the 2nd Option which is to book the tour with a Private Room Upgrade and once she gets a roommate from family and friends, she can just request for the upgrade to be removed. Private Room Upgrades are offered at a limited number per tour and we cannot predict when it might get sold out.
