This was a fabulous trip! I definitely recommend it. A bit pricey (for me) but, boy, was it worth it! It was my Christmas present to myself :-). I was happy with pretty much everything - well organised, good hotel stays, great excursions, fun night on the felucca, great coach driver and much more. Probably, the best tour I've been on. Most notably, however, was our guide Ramez! Don't know where to start with all the positive adjectives for him. We were a group of about 30 people - he handled us and all our requests, queries, etc excellently with professionalism, knowledge and expertise, humour and care. Hats off to him! He deserves a promotion/pay rise! Our group was a mix of nationalities from all four corners of the world, and age groups, including families with children. I have to say, I'm not great with or around children as often they are noisy brats. But these kids were really well behaved and all got on well together. And, I normally prefer to travel solo too to avoid any dramas. But, we all got on really well in our group and became friends to still keep in touch. Really enjoyed it! Thanks. Highly recommended.

Firstly, Egypt is wonderful and the ancient museum monuments are breathtaking. This tour covered many of the most famous sights and generally ran smoothly. The guides (Nabil and two Menas!) knew their stuff and obviously care deeply about their country. The group I travelled with on and off were fab. However, Timeless Tours run several trips with slightly different itineraries simultaneously. This means that - as a solo traveller - you might not be with the same people for the whole trip, which sort of spoils the small group experience. My tour finished on NYE and I'd booked a trip that spent that last night in Cairo, but several of the people I'd become friends with stayed in Hurghada cos their tour finished later. Fortunately, one other solo traveller also went to Cairo, but I could have been alone, despite having booked a group tour and that wouldn't have been the fun shared NYE adventure I was expecting. Timeless arranged for the Hurghada group to attend a gala dinner at their all-inc hotel, but made no offer to us to arrange anything to celebrate NYE in Cairo - not even a suggestion of what we might do independently. On the second night, half had stuck with the included overnight bus option, while some (including myself) had been told in advance that most would upgrade to a flight and - since I didn't fancy getting a coach by myself overnight - had paid extra in advance for the flight. If they had been transparent about the number of people getting the bus I could have saved money and not upgraded. On other nights, most had chosen a tour with an all-inc three night Nile cruise (part of their original itinerary, not an upgrade), while this tour includes a felucca overnight as standard. When I arrived, there was an assumption I'd upgrade to the cruise and I was pushed quite hard to do this. Had I been the only one - which was entirely possible - I might have caved and spent an extra £100 to have an experience I didn't want. Fortunately, two others had also booked a tour with a felucca and were happy to insist we have the experience we booked - it turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip! Finally, in terms of choice of hotel and local experience, the focus is very much on ancient Egypt, not on experience of Egyptian culture. The first hotel (Jaz Pyramids Resort) is very well located for the pyramids and GEM but they look at you like you're crazy for want to eat elsewhere (there's nothing nearby) or spend any free time you have exploring Cairo. Uber works here, though, and I'm assuming taxis too so escape is possible! The expectation is usually that you will eat at the hotels or on a couple of occasions meals that are not included take place in restaurants clearly catering to bus loads of captive audience tourists with fixed price buffet options, rather than the unique local spots that I'd hope a local guide would be able to share with us. The best and (I assume) most authentic food we had was on the felucca. TL;DR - If you want a coach trip to the main sites of Egypt, but you don't really want much cultural immersion, this is a good trip - just beware of hard sell on the upgrades and stand up for yourself about the experience you want. If you are solo traveller looking for group experiences and opportunities to explore independently with and without new pals, or are expecting to see more of the non-touristy side of Egypt like an Intrepid or GAdventures tour, book with those guys instead.

We were incredibly lucky to be accompanied by Remon during our 9-day tour of Egypt, and we cannot express enough how grateful and impressed we were with the service provided. Our guide was knowledgeable, thorough, and always available to answer any questions, enriching the journey with detailed explanations, fascinating anecdotes, and a deep understanding of Egyptian history, culture, and traditions. Every site we visited came to life through his engaging and passionate storytelling. Beyond his expertise, we truly appreciated his kindness, patience, and constant care for the group. He always made us feel welcomed, supported, and safe, even during the more demanding parts of the trip. Most importantly, we want to highlight his honesty and integrity, qualities that stood out throughout the entire experience. He always acted transparently, gave us genuine advice, and consistently prioritized our best interests, without ever pushing us into purchases or unwanted activities. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making this trip such a unique and unforgettable experience.

This trip to Egypt has been one of the best experiences of my life! I can absolutely recommend Timeless Tour; from the very beginning, the assistance via messages was impeccable—super quick and clear. The itinerary was very well designed; I managed to visit almost 80% of Egypt in just 10 days. My guide, Remon, was wonderful—the best I could have wished for: he was clear, helpful, kind, attentive to our needs, and very knowledgeable. He allowed me to connect with Egypt’s culture and history, sparking my curiosity and passion for this fascinating world. I feel truly lucky to have had Remon as my guide, and I would definitely recommend him to anyone. One of the highlights was the cruise upgrade, which allowed me to explore the country while sailing along the Nile—it was such a unique and magical experience. I also had the chance to try the hot air balloon ride and to visit Abu Simbel: both were absolutely unforgettable and definitely “must-do” experiences that made my trip even more special. The transportation was well organized and the drivers were fantastic: there were never any delays or inconveniences. I am deeply grateful to Remon for this journey—without him, seeing Egypt would not have been the same!

The tour was beautiful and exciting; we explored all of Egypt and I feel very satisfied. From the pyramids to the temples, passing by the sea and through charming local shops. Our guide, Remon, is very knowledgeable in the subject, and above all, he truly cares about his travelers: he took care of our every need, often anticipating them before we even asked. He always told us what to avoid in order to steer clear of scams and to stay safe. He is a truly kind person and incredibly resourceful. I will never forget this trip — I highly recommend it!

The trip was superb. Amazing accommodation (exceeded expectations based on cost of your) and transport around the country was on safe and air conditioned buses with excellent drivers. The overnight train to Aswan was good fun (a bit of an adventure - long and noisy but fun nonetheless - upgrade to flight if this isn't for you). The sites we saw were out of this world. Highly recommend doing the Abu Simbel trip as an add on - this place is a must see. Egypt is a wonderful country. Felt safe from start to finish. Our guide was responsible for everything great about the trip. Mina Malik is a wonderful man and really made the trip for us. Organised everything so well and went above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and learning about his beautiful country. He is passionate about his job and that is evident by how he treated us throughout. We learnt so much and will always remember his stories and the time we spent with him in Egypt. The final days at the resort in Hurghada were great to relax and rest. It's an action packed week with lots of time travelling and early starts so be prepared (worth it though). Got to do the scuba diving in the red sea while at Hurghada and this was a wonderful experience. Cannot recommend this tour and timeless tours enough. 5*

The trip was wonderful from start to finish. The accommodation was amazing - better than I had imagined - transport was comfortable on air conditioned mini buses with excellent drivers. The overnight train from Cairo to Aswan was interesting and an experience we will look back on with fun memories - not completely comfortable but was all apart of the adventure. The overnight stay on the Felluca and cruising down the Nile was an amazing experience. We even had the chance to swim in the Nile which is as lovely. All of the temples and tombs were out of this world. Seeing the history and the things I had read about in books since I was a kid. Unreal. Abu simbel is a must see so do pay the extra to do this. We didn't do the hot air balloon but others did and they enjoyed it. Finishing off with some relaxing days at a resort in Hurghada was great with added Scuba diving (this was great and I highly recommend) Our tour guide, Mina Malik, was simply amazing. What a top bloke - loves his country and is passionate about his job as a tour guide. His ability to tell stories and teach the history of Egypt made the tour great from start to finish. He made us feel safe from day one and all the support staff along the way were top notch. It was well organised and smooth. Be prepared for early starts and long drives but well worth it and great value for money. Absolutely recommend this tour and Egypt as a must see destination.

Do you have an earlier departure than 20 dec? Is 20 December tour still available? I a solo traveller, do I get private room or is it shared room with another male? Is there availability to share for the 20th Dec trip? If I dont want to do Hurghada, can I go back to Cairo instead of Hurrghada. Will the new GEM be included in this trip?

I am looking at 20th december tour if there is no other tour available before say 17th or 18th December. Is there availability on 20th tour? I am solo male traveller, looking to share. I beilieve this tour is by train from Cairo to Aswan. why is not sleeper included in the price? Also the cost of Abu Simbel looks pretty high compard to what prices I have seen elsewhere.

    • Timeless Tours OperatorWritten December 2025

This tour is still available on the 13th and the 17th December. Besides, Yes. The tour is still available on the 20th. Getting back to Cairo from Luxor is available for an extra charge. The GEM isn't included in the tour, but it's an available optional tour. The travel to Aswan is with an overnight vehicle. With two upgrades options; 1- Sleeper train upgrade for USD $188 2- Flight upgrade for USD $244.

There is no minimum number of people needed for this tour to be a guaranteed departure. It's indeed a guaranteed departure even if there is only 1 traveler signed up. So far, there are 12 people booked in for the 24th December departure.

The trip notes recommend a sleeping bag, or similar as well - how cold will it be at that time?

    • Timeless Tours OperatorWritten October 2025

We travel overnight to Aswan with a private vehicle. The size of the vehicle depends on the group size. Unfortunately, none of these vehicles are sleeper coaches. The public transportation in Egypt isn't good enough to be added to a tour. Especially, because the journey takes about 14 hours.

    • Timeless Tours OperatorWritten October 2025

The weather would get a bit cold at night on the felucca. We will provide enough blankets, and you won't really need a sleeping bag if you don't want to bring one.

I am looking to book this trip with two adults. We are looking to travel in October. I'm unsure of what days I should book my flight to avoid overlapping the itinerary. If I choose the Oct 8, 2025, do I have to book my flight into Cairo for Oct 7th or Oct 6th? And same with the return flight.

    Tour Details
    • Timeless Tours OperatorWritten April 2025

If you would like to book the 8th October, 2025 tour, you could book your international flight to land in Cairo on the 8th at any time. Alternatively, you may choose to arrive in Cairo one or more day(s) before the tour in case you would like to have more free days in Cairo. The same is for the return flight. You could book your departure flight at any time on day 9 of the tour. Actually, day 1 and 9 of the tour have no activities except for the airport transfers.
