Our Rhine cruise was beset by climate difficulties which meant several changes of itinerary during to low water levels. We had some parts in the Netherlands and the Moselle river but I don’t think we ever saw the Rhine. However the staff were outstanding, the ship was fabulous and amazing food. We could not fault the service or the desire of the staff to facilitate the trip to be the best it could possibly be. We were disappointed at times but realised it was beyond their control. A six hour bus trip on the last day ( to get to disembarking destination of Basel) was a bit gruelling with a 2.45 wake up. If the water levels were good I think the trip would have been perfect.Show more

The river cruise was good even though we missed seeing what we had paid to see. The staff were amazing. The food was so delicious. The places we did see were interesting. River cruising the Netherlands and Belgium is not quite cruising the Rhine Valley though. But nobody can control the water levels. Unfortunately the on tour support from Tour Radar was sub standard. We needed answers to questions straight away but nobody works an afternoon shift or the weekends at Tour Radar. This left us in a state of stress for a lot of our cruise not knowing what was going on from one day to another. Surely when there is a time difference for travellers who are overseas someone could work afternoon and weekends. After all that’s when you’re needed, when things don’t go to plan. Have to rate the after sales service of Tour Radar one star. The river cruise company was 4 stars.Show more

Overall, this was a really great cruise, from the single cabin (so few cruise lines offer them!!!) to the staff, food, etc. My only complaint was the lack of communication regarding the embarkation point locaton, along with the change to it itself. We were all aware that low river levels were not allowing ships to sail to Budapest, but we did not find out until the actual embarkation time that we were going to be bussed 3 hours up river to Bratislava. And, that was after many of us were running around trying to sort out exactly where to meet to begin with. Otherwise, a fantastic trip and I will plan on sailing with Luftner Cruises again!Show more
