Itinerary
- Day 1
Cusco to Soraypampa
Your pickup happens at 4:00 a.m. from the hotel, then you'll drive about two hours to Mollepata for breakfast. After eating, head to Challacancha where the trek starts. You'll hike for 3 hours to Soraypampa while following an ancient Inca canal, and lunch waits for you at Sky Camp. In the afternoon, make your way to turquoise Humantay Lake sitting at 4,200m elevation. After exploring the area, return to camp for dinner and settle into one of the comfortable domes for the night.

Soraypampa to Collpapampa
Early morning starts with coca tea and a hearty breakfast before tackling the trek's toughest section. Abra Salkantay awaits, and the roughly 3-hour climb includes the challenging 7 Serpents Trail. Once you reach the summit, you'll see snow-capped mountains all around. The descent takes you to Huayracmachay where lunch includes glacier views. After eating, continue through cloud forest for about 3.5 hours, keeping an eye out for the Cock of the Rock, Peru's national bird. You'll finish at Collpapampa for dinner and an overnight stay.

- Day 3
Collpapampa to Lucmabamba
Following breakfast, hike through Santa Teresa Valley spotting rivers, waterfalls, orchids, and banana, coffee, and avocado plantations. You reach La Playa for lunch, then visit a local coffee farm to see how coffee gets produced. The farm tour also includes avocado and orange plantations. From there, head to Lucmabamba and check into the exclusive Jungle Domes set within the jungle. Have dinner and spend the night surrounded by forest.

Lucmabamba to Aguas Calientes
Eat a filling breakfast before climbing 2 hours to Llactapata, an archaeological site offering unique views of Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu. Once you've explored, descend for 1.5 hours to Aobamba for lunch. Then it's another 30 minutes to Hidroeléctrica where you'll see a 250-meter artificial waterfall. From this point, you can either take the train to Aguas Calientes (additional cost of $41 per person) or hike 3 hours along the train tracks while passing ancient Inca sites. End with dinner at an exclusive restaurant and a hotel overnight.

Start the day with a hearty breakfast before heading to Km 104 for a short Inca Trail hike through lush Andean vegetation. Your guide explains the Chachabamba archaeological site, then you continue 3 hours to Wiñay Wayna at 2,650m to explore temples and agricultural terraces. Take a short break to sit with the surroundings, pass by Classic Inca Trail camps, and eat a box lunch. Hike to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) for your first views of Machu Picchu, then descend to the upper terraces for photos. Take the bus back to Aguas Calientes for dinner at a restaurant and hotel overnight.

- Day 6
Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu to Cusco
Wake early and have a light breakfast at the hotel before taking a 25-minute bus ride to Machu Picchu entrance. A 2-hour guided tour covers the lower citadel including temples, terraces, and key Inca architecture. After the tour, you'll have free time for photos and exploring on your own. If you bought tickets for Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, your guide takes you to the checkpoint. Head back to the entrance for the bus down to Aguas Calientes, grab lunch at a restaurant of your choice, then board the train to Ollantaytambo. Private transportation meets you there for the drive back to Cusco and your hotel.
