  I believed she also reserved space for 6 more people. As of now 3 more are going to join the same tour, not 6. How do I sign up for this same tour, because it says sold out for that tour on your website.

    They could kindly consider moving their travel date slightly earlier so that everyone can join the same group. If possible, it would be ideal to arrive in Cusco on April 2nd for the Welcome in Cusco, and then begin the main tour on April 3rd. This adjustment would allow all of you to travel together in the same group, ensuring better coordination and a smoother overall experience. Additionally, it would greatly help us organize permits, logistics, and accommodations more efficiently, providing greater security and clarity for everyone. Making this change in advance would help guarantee availability and ensure everything runs seamlessly for your entire group.

  How fit do you have to be? My group is mostly in our 50's and mid 60's. Two of us recently the w trek in Torres del Paine, Chile.

    Regarding your inquiry about fitness level, the Inca Trail, and particularly the package we operate, is characterized by moderate altitude points and well-paced hiking days. Having a good general level of fitness is ideal; however, it is not necessary to be a specialized athlete in order to successfully complete the trek.
    
    Our guiding team always adapts the pace to the group, and we do not overexert our guests. We pay close attention to each participant, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the trek as comfortably and safely as possible. While certain sections may feel a bit demanding, having a reasonable level of fitness is more than sufficient. Occasional walking or light hiking prior to the trip can certainly help improve endurance, but there is no need for intense training.
    
    Rest breaks are an essential part of the journey, and these are incorporated regularly throughout the trek. That said, if any participant has a heart condition, blood pressure concerns, or respiratory issues, we strongly recommend consulting a physician prior to the trip. The same applies to any other medical condition that may be affected by altitude or physical activity.
    
    Outside of these considerations, you can be confident that the trek can be completed without issues. We regularly welcome guests within similar age ranges, including participants between 60 and even 80 years old, who complete the Inca Trail successfully. In such cases, we may request a medical certificate confirming that there are no serious complications or, if there are any conditions, that they are well controlled.

    Day 1 – Cusco

    - No trekking today; the day is for resting and adjusting to altitude.

    Day 2 – Sacred Valley
    
    - Tour of the Sacred Valley, visiting key sites and overnight in Ollantaytambo.
    - Light walking during the tour, mainly around archaeological sites.
    - Altitude: 2,792 m (Ollantaytambo)
    - Effort level: Moderate
    
    Day 3 – Inca Trail 4D/3N – Day 1
    
    - Hiking from the trail start to the first campsite.
    - Distance: 14 km / 8.7 mi, moderate elevation gain.
    - Altitude: 3,300 m
    - Effort level: Moderate
    
    Day 4 – Inca Trail 4D/3N – Day 2 (Warmiwañusca / Dead Woman's Pass)

    We recommend scheduling your tour for the end of January, as the regulatory authorities for the Inca Trail and other relevant organizations usually close the available dates for February and mid-March due to the rainy season. If you wish to secure your tour, the available departure dates would be the 22nd, 23rd, or at the latest, the 24th of January. Once you make your booking, we will provide confirmation immediately, ensuring that your chosen date is definitely guaranteed.

    Most tours in Cusco and to Machu Picchu combine day trips with transportation, visiting popular tourist attractions such as the Cusco city tour, Sacred Valley, Rainbow Mountain hike, as well as longer treks like the Classic Inca Trail, Salkantay Trek, or the Short Inca Trail, which includes a guided tour of Machu Picchu on the last day. All of these Inca sites, including Machu Picchu itself, are incredible places that both children and adults enjoy.

    Regarding your questions: Cusco's elevation is 3300m / 11,300ft. Dry season is characterized by blue skies and sunny conditions. This season spans from April to October and is considered to be the best season for hiking in the Cusco region. The Inca Trail closes for maintenance in February each year. We have availability for the Inca Trail Experience 8D/ 7N (Group Service) starting on May 23th, 2024.

    Currently, there is no limit age for people doing the Inca Trail. In our experience, we had people even 75 years old. Once we will purchase your permit for the Inca Trail these are non-refundable and non-transferable, so in case of cancelation we can apply for a partial refund minus $200 per person. There is no need to pass a COVID test to go on this trek and also to enter the country.

    We have availability starting on June 15th which allows you to start Inca trail on June 17th. If you book the itinerary, it will add a single room for the nights you stay in Cusco, $30 per night, is 4 night hotel total $120 to the tour price.

    The itinerary will be: June 15th: Welcome to Cusco, June 16th: Sacred Valley, June 17th-19th: Inca Trail - Camping, June 20th: Machu Picchu and back to Cusco, June 21st: Rainbow Mountain, June 22nd: transfer back to the airport. The price for the tour is $1152. For being a solo traveler, a single room will be total $120 for 4-night hotel. Inca Trail does not include sleeping bag, trekking poles and air matt, they are available for rent in Cusco.
