Although this was a physically demanding trip, it was one of the best experiences of my life. Abe, Wilbur and Alex were patient, kind and caring the food was amazing and the accommodated my vegetarian request, which was really very nice. Thank you for making this ship available.
Classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 4 Days with Vistadome TrainLoved the tour! Would definitely recommend Alpaca to other travellers!
Classic Inca Trail Trek 4D/3N to Machu Picchu (Group service )We booked the 2-day Machu Picchu tour with Alpaca Expeditions, and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Peru. From beginning to end, everything was well organized, and the company made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. Our guide, David V., was absolutely outstanding. He and our driver picked us up directly from our Airbnb with a warm, friendly welcome, setting the tone for the rest of the trip. David was knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about sharing the history and culture of the places we visited. He struck a great balance between providing fascinating information and keeping the group entertained throughout the journey. One thing we especially appreciated was how attentive he was to everyone in the group. He happily offered to take photos for anyone who wanted them at each of the scenic stops and was very mindful of everyone's comfort while hiking. He paced the climbs thoughtfully, giving people time to catch their breath on the steeper sections while sharing interesting historical facts and fun stories during the breaks. It made the elevation and challenging stairways much more manageable and enjoyable. The included meals were all delicious, and the hotel in Aguas Calientes was clean, comfortable, and had an excellent hot shower—something we were especially grateful for after a full day of hiking. Communication from Alpaca Expeditions before and during the tour was clear, timely, and helpful. Everything was well coordinated, and it was obvious that they prioritize giving their guests the best possible experience. If I could change one thing, it would simply be having a little more time to explore some of the sites on the first day. However, we traveled during the winter months when the earlier sunset naturally limits the amount of time available, so it's understandable why the itinerary is structured the way it is. Overall, we had an amazing experience and would not hesitate to book with Alpaca Expeditions again. If you're looking for a professional company with excellent organization, delicious meals, comfortable accommodations, and an exceptional guide like David V., I highly recommend them.
