Itinerary
- Day 1
Playa del Carmen
Welcome to Mexico! You'll arrive in Playa del Carmen where a welcome meeting happens at 6 pm. If you get there early, there's time to snorkel in the cenotes, walk along the white sand beaches, or try reef diving on Cozumel. After the meeting, you and your new travel group will have cocktails and tacos together.

- Day 2
Playa del Carmen - Cenote Azul
A local bus takes you to Cenote Azul where you can swim, dive, or snorkel in the natural open-air pool. Back in Playa del Carmen, the afternoon is free so you can keep doing water activities and look for rays and turtles, or catch a bus south to Tulum to see the Maya ruins and beaches. Watch the sunset with other travelers later.

Landmarks Cenote Azul Tulum - Day 3
Playa del Carmen - Bacalar - Chetumal
Start with a beach walk or coffee at a local café in Playa del Carmen. Then you'll travel to Bacalar, the first settlement of the Itza tribe. Lunch is included at the Lake of Seven Colours where you can relax, then head on to Chetumal, a quiet city close to the Belize border.

Chetumal - Belize City - Caye Caulker
You'll head south early to cross into Belize. After border formalities, travel to Belize City and take a water taxi to Caye Caulker. Your leader will walk you around and show you the island. Later you can relax or explore on your own, but keep in mind crocodiles may be in the split area so swim carefully.

- Day 5
Caye Caulker
The day is yours to use however you want on the island. Snorkel at the nearby coral reef, visit Hol Chan Marine Reserve to see the second-longest coral reef in the world and spot manatees, or just find a palm tree, read, nap, and soak in the island feel.

Caye Caulker
Morning is free to do what you like. Then join a cooking class with a local family where you'll learn to make traditional Belizean chicken, rice and beans. Afterward, swim at the beach or rent a bicycle to explore the island. For dinner, head to outdoor beachfront restaurants and try fresh Belizean seafood.

- Day 7
Caye Caulker - Belize City - San Ignacio
Leave the islands and head to the highlands. Take a ferry from Caye Caulker to Belize City, then a bus to San Ignacio. Your leader will guide you through San Ignacio and Santa Elena, showing you the vibrant local Garifuna and Maya communities. Try classic Maya dishes like cochinita pibil for dinner.

San Ignacio
Explore San Ignacio at your own pace. The town sits surrounded by rivers, waterfalls, and Maya ruins. You can visit Xunantunich Maya ceremonial site and cross the hand-cranked ferry, explore Actun Tunichil Muknal cave with Maya relics, or trek through Mountain Pine Ridge caves. Barbecue stalls in Santa Elena are about 15 minutes on foot.

San Ignacio - Tikal National Park
Cross into Guatemala to reach Tikal National Park. Grab lunch before meeting a local guide at this impressive archaeological site. Five granite temples rise above the jungle with smaller structures hidden in the forest. Climb to the top for views across the canopy and watch for toucans, macaws, and colorful birds.

- Day 10
Tikal National Park - Flores - Rio Dulce
Head to Flores for breakfast at a local restaurant and an orientation walk with your leader. Then travel by private minivan to Rio Dulce and transfer to your hotel by boat. The return trip into town is by water or a 40-minute jungle walk. You'll have time to relax, and your leader may offer an informal Spanish lesson.

Landmarks Flores Rio Dulce - Day 11
Rio Dulce - Livingston
Take a scenic boat ride down the river to Livingston, an Afro-Caribbean town 30 km away that you can only reach by water. You'll pass tropical forests, water lilies, and a deep canyon full of river birds. Walk through the colorful town, watch fishermen at the docks, and join locals for a morning dance class. Explore and have lunch at your own pace before heading back.

Rio Dulce - Antigua
Leave Rio Dulce by private minibus for Antigua. The route through Guatemala City is one of the busiest roads with heavy traffic, roadworks, and lots of trucks, so bring patience, music, and something to read. That evening, gather with your group for a final dinner to say goodbye.

Antigua
Your adventure ends this morning with nothing scheduled. Antigua has plenty to see, so you might want to stay a few extra days and explore this popular traveler destination.
