Kigali to Akagera National Park
Following breakfast at the lodge, you'll head to Akagera National Park, Rwanda's savannah reserve with the Big Five. After checking in and having lunch, the afternoon brings a boat trip on Lake Ihema where you can see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and various bird species like pelicans and kingfishers.

- Day 3
Akagera National Park to Kigali
You'll start early with breakfast and a packed lunch for a full day of game driving through the park. The morning focuses on catching wildlife during sunrise and early activity, with chances to spot lions, elephants, and buffaloes. By evening you'll transfer back to Kigali.

Kigali to Nyungwe National Park
After breakfast and checking out, you'll drive to the Southern Province to see the King's Palace Museum in Nyanza and its traditional Inyambo sacred cows. Lunch happens in Butare before visiting the Ethnographic Museum to learn about Rwanda's traditional culture. Late afternoon brings you to Nyungwe National Park for the evening.

Nyungwe National Park
Starting with African coffee early on, you'll get a briefing before heading into Nyungwe forest for chimpanzee trekking with about an hour to find and watch them. After trekking comes lunch, then you'll walk the 90-meter suspended Canopy Walk for forest views and chances to spot primates from above before dinner.

Landmarks Nyungwe National Park - Day 6
Nyungwe to Gisenyi (Rubavu)
Breakfast done, you'll drive to Gisenyi with scenic countryside views and photo stops along the way. After checking in at Rubavu, lunch happens by Lake Kivu with great views. The afternoon offers roughly two hours of kayaking or a relaxing boat trip on the volcanic lake at sunset.

Gisenyi to Volcanoes National Park (Musanze)
You'll have breakfast then drive through Rwanda's rolling landscapes toward Volcanoes National Park. Lunch comes after checking in at your Musanze accommodation. In the afternoon, a scenic trip to Twin Lakes offers boat rides with views of the Virunga Volcanoes and chances for birdwatching before dinner.

Landmarks Twin Lakes Virunga Volcanoes Volcanoes National Park - Day 8
Volcanoes National Park
After an early breakfast, your driver-guide picks you up for a full day game drive across Akagera from north to south. You'll hunt for elephants, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, waterbucks, and recently reintroduced lions plus birds. The drive lasts 5 to 7 hours depending on sightings and your interest.

- Day 9
Volcanoes National Park to Uganda and Return
You'll start with early coffee, then get a briefing from Uganda wildlife officials before heading into the jungle to search for mountain gorillas. After finding them, you spend a full hour watching and observing them in their habitat. Lunch follows, then you transfer back to Rwanda for your lodge or airport evening flight.
