You'll board the ship at 6:00 p.m. and get settled into your cabin. There's a welcome cocktail where you'll meet the crew, then the ship sets out cruising towards Mainz for the evening.

Mainz to Frankfurt
Pull into Mainz early morning and take a tour of the city with your escort. You'll see the thousand-year-old cathedral sitting at the confluence of the Rhine and Main rivers. Later the ship heads towards Frankfurt, where you can choose between optional sightseeing tours of the business district or the 'Mainhattan' tour that includes going up Main Tower.

Miltenberg to Wertheim
Stop in Miltenberg early morning to walk through this peaceful town. Check out the charming marketplace with half-timbered houses, the main street, Hotel Reisen, and the Old Town Hall. Lunch happens on board, then you'll have free time in Wertheim before heading back for dinner.

Wertheim to Wurzburg to Schweinfurt
The ship cruises towards Karlstadt in the morning. There's an optional tour to Wurzburg to see the famous baroque palace that used to be the residence of prince-bishops. You'll rejoin the ship late afternoon, then it continues to Schweinfurt where there's onboard entertainment in the evening.

Landmarks Wurzburg Palace - Day 5
Schweinfurt to Rothenburg to Bamberg
Cruise along the Main to Schweinfurt early this morning. You can join an optional guided tour to Rothenburg, a walled town up on the hills above the river with narrow streets and half-timbered houses throughout. After returning to the ship, you'll sail towards Bamberg.

Landmarks Rothenburg - Day 6
Bamberg to Nuremberg to Muhlhausen
Head out this morning on the Rhine-Main-Danube canal (it opened in September 1992). Lunch is on board, then you arrive in Nuremberg early afternoon. An optional tour shows you monuments outside the medieval walls before you explore the Marktplatz on foot to see the Schöner Brunnen fountain and Frauenkirche. Try some Lebkuchen, the local gingerbread specialty. You'll return to the ship in the afternoon and sail to Muhlhausen for evening entertainment.

Passau
Head towards Passau this morning with free time to explore the town on your own once you arrive. Walk around and see the baroque buildings and narrow streets. The ship sails through the attractive region of Engelhartszell, then there's evening entertainment on board.

Landmarks Passau - Day 9
Passau to Melk to Durnstein to Vienna
Cruise in the morning and reach Melk early. Join an optional excursion to the Abbey of Melk, sitting on a rocky outcrop over the Danube and representing Austrian baroque architecture at its best. Return to the ship by late morning and sail to Durnstein, arriving around noon for lunch. After exploring this village and its baroque church, you'll board again and cruise to Vienna for an overnight stay. There's an optional tour of the city's illuminated sights at night if you'd like.

The ship sets sail around noon, lunch is on board, and you arrive in Budapest mid-afternoon. You can explore this 'pearl of the Danube' freely before dinner, or join an optional night tour.

Landmarks Esztergom Esztergom Basilica - Day 12
Budapest
Join a guided tour of Budapest to see the baroque, neoclassical, and art nouveau architecture. The panoramic tour goes between Buda's hills and Pest's plains, along the riverbanks past the Parliament. The afternoon gives you free time or you can visit the Széchenyi Baths for thermal relaxation, or the Budapest Market Halls to explore paprika garlands and taste local specialties. An optional folklore experience with traditional Gypsy dances and costumes happens in the evening.
