Arrival
You can arrive anytime and get settled in at your accommodation. There'll be a quick welcome meeting with your CEO and the group to go over the trip ahead. If you're interested, there's an optional group dinner at the hotel restaurant later where you can meet your travel companions.

Arusha
Board the Lando at 10:00 AM and head across the semi-arid Maasai lands toward Arusha, Tanzania. You'll spot Mount Kilimanjaro off in the distance as the group crosses the Kenya-Tanzania border. Meals are included throughout the day.

Serengeti National Park
Jump into a 7-seat 4x4 safari vehicle at 08:00 AM for your first drive into the Serengeti. The landscape here is mainly vast golden plains with acacia trees scattered across, and you'll start seeing wildlife right away. This kicks off a 3-day, 2-night safari excursion that covers both Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater, with the group split among several vehicles with experienced guides.

- Day 4
Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Rise early at 04:00 AM for a final morning safari in the Serengeti to catch animals during sunrise activity. After breaking camp, the group travels to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and sets up camp near the crater rim by late afternoon. The rest of your day is free to take in the scenery around you. Note that if you've booked the Serengeti Balloon Safari, this is your day for it, which means you'll skip the morning group drive but get an aerial view instead.

- Day 5
Ngorongoro to Arusha
Head down to the Ngorongoro crater floor at 04:00-05:00 AM for your final safari experience. Look for wildlife across the grasslands, swamps, acacia forests, and around Lake Makat. The group exits the crater in late morning and then begins the drive back to Arusha in the Lando, with time to enjoy the landscape along the way.

- Day 6
Bagamoyo
Start early and drive through various landscapes heading toward the Indian Ocean. You'll arrive in Bagamoyo, a historic trading port from the late 1800s that was recently designated a World Heritage Site. There's free time to wander around the narrow, unpaved streets and check out what the town has to offer.

Bagamoyo to Zanzibar
Leave Bagamoyo and drive to Dar es Salaam, where you'll catch the ferry to Zanzibar. The ferry ride takes around 2 hours to cross to this Tanzanian archipelago. Once you arrive, you'll head to your beach resort and settle in for a few days of relaxation on the sand.

Zanzibar
You have the whole day free to do what appeals to you in Zanzibar. Whether you want to snorkel, take a sailing trip, hang out on the beach, or wander around on your own, the choice is yours and you can go at your own pace.

Zanzibar to Stone Town
Travel back to Stone Town from your beach resort on the other side of the island. On the way, you'll stop at a spice plantation to learn about Zanzibar's spice trade history. After that, you'll spend time walking through the historic alleyways of the oldest part of Zanzibar, checking out the winding streets and cultural heritage sites.

Zanzibar to Baobab Valley
It's time to leave the islands and head back inland toward the mountains. Take the ferry from Zanzibar back to Dar es Salaam, then climb into the Lando for the drive south. The day ends at your group campsite in Baobab Valley, where you can kick back and relax under a starry sky.

Iringa
After packing up camp, you'll spend most of the day traveling in the Lando to Iringa. Once you arrive, the group stops at a crafts center that supports the local community, so you can see and pick up locally-made goods.

Chitimba
The group crosses the border from Tanzania into Malawi today. You'll finish the journey at Lake Malawi in Chitimba, where the views of mountains from the lake's beach are really nice and you can see Tanzania just across the water.

Kande Beach

Kande Beach

South Luangwa National Park
Set out toward South Luangwa National Park for wildlife viewing. During the drive, you'll have lunch and visit the Tribal Textiles Market and Courtyard Café, which is a G Adventures-supported craft workshop. In the afternoon, you have the option to join an optional afternoon or night wildlife safari in the park if you'd like.

Private Farm near Lusaka
Spend the day driving across rough roads to a private farm about 29km (18 miles) outside Lusaka, the capital of Zambia. You'll see wildlife roaming around the property and can hang out at the camp's bar or by the pool. This is an overnight stop between longer driving days.

Victoria Falls

You're free to leave at any time today. If you don't want to head home just yet, reach out to your CEO about adding more time to explore other parts of Zimbabwe or neighboring countries. Staying another night or two in the area gives you a chance to spend more time around Victoria Falls and along the Zambezi River, which most people find worth the extra days.
