I am presuming the camping facilities do not include private bathrooms, and if not, is there an option to pay xtra and upgrade?

Bathroom facilities are shared throughout the tour. Most campsites do offer good basic amenities, including flush toilets (with a few exceptions) and showers. Some showers are outdoors but have simple enclosures to ensure privacy. There are a couple of more basic stops along the route to be aware of: > In the Serengeti National Park, the campsite is very simple, with no electricity, basic bathing facilities (no proper showers), and both seated and squat flushing toilets. > At the Ngorongoro Crater rim, facilities are also more limited, with occasional warm showers, limited electricity, and squat flushing toilets. While these locations are more rustic, they are incredibly special, and although the camps are open (meaning wildlife may pass through), they are safe and well-managed. In terms of upgrades, there isn't an option to upgrade to private bathroom facilities on this tour. However, you can request a single supplement, which will provide you with your own room and tent — please note that bathroom facilities will still remain shared.

I am interested in booking this tour. I was wondering why its listed as activity level 3? There does not seem to be any strenous physical activity involved (except on optional activities). Due to my physical fitness level, i usually do level 2 but i dont think any activity involved in this tour would be very difficult. Is it because of the long driving days? I dont have issues with that or camping, since I have done a camping tour in Africa with G before.

This tour is rated a three due to the camping aspect and driving conditions. This is not a physically demanding journey; however, travelling can be difficult, with long drives and poor road conditions at times. An essential part of your safari is participation. The group is usually divided into small groups and given different tasks which change on a day to day basis, from kitchen duty group (helping in prepare meals and clean up afterwards), the packing group (sets up all tables and chairs outside) and the cleaning group (which cleans the truck by emptying the rubbish bin and sweeping).

Payment information
- For any tour departing before July 5th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after July 5th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with G Adventures. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 45 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
