The Cape Town to Zanzibar 35 day tour does have a locally payable 'Adventure Pass' of USD 475. It budgets for the Okavango Delta excursion and Chobe National Park (in Botswana) and the South Luangwa National Park in Zambia. Visa requirements will depend on your nationality (per passport) but most people require a visa for Namibia and Tanzania. These can be applied for in advance (online) or purchased on arrival at the border. There is also a mandatory insurance purchase for all visitors to Zanzibar (which you apply for online in advance).

the tour is operated by another travel agency, not by tour radar, right? adventure pass is the only way to experience some of the activities or i can choose some optional activities during the trip and pay for them separately? my boyfriend would like to join us at one part of the trip only, preferably the last, at which part could he join?

The Tour is operated by Acacia Africa. The Adventure Pass covers local highlights and is strongly advised to purchase. It must be paid in full on Day 1 of the Tour. There will be additional optional activities, e.g. white river rafting - that can be paid separately and directly with the activity centers. Please let us know from where your boyfriend would like to join and we can quote accordingly. I would suggest Livingstone, as it will be easier to get to.

What is the Adventure Pass?

Every Overland tour has an Adventure Pass which is paid to your tour leader in Africa at the beginning of the tour (or pre-paid by arrangement prior to your tour). This is separate and in addition to the Tour Price, and covers selected park entries, activities and excursions along the way where payment goes directly to the supplier to ensure local suppliers benefit directly from the income.

Payment information
- For any tour departing before June 22nd, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after June 22nd, 2026, a minimum payment of $300 is required to confirm your booking with Acacia Adventure Holidays. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 61 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Acacia Adventure Holidays will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
