    This is a small-group tour with a maximum of 16 travellers. The actual number currently booked will depend on the departure date you're considering.
    
    Luggage is limited to one 20kg bag, approximately 55 x 45 x 25 cm, plus one small personal bag.
    
    The tour has a fast pace but an easy physical rating. There is a moderate amount of walking, and you should be comfortable walking around 2 km without stopping.
    
    The single supplement varies by departure date. Which date are you looking at? I can then confirm the exact cost and current group size.

  I would be a solo traveller coming from NZ. I'm in my 50s and never travelled overseas before and wanted to question what the general demographic of people are who go on these trips, and whether there is generally any other solo travellers.

    Generally speaking our demographic on Scotland tours on average is between 35-60, obviously we may have much younger and more mature travellers but majority of clients should be in this age range. These tours attracts couples, group of friends but also a solo travellers.

  Is the Scotland Far North 10-day tour walking intensive or more driving focused? I'm traveling with 2 or 3 friends in late August 2025, and we want to understand the tour's activity level.

  What exactly is a "single guest house"? How does it compare to a four star hotel?

    B&Bs are traditionally small family owned and run properties offering a handful of guest rooms, usually with shared bathroom facilities (ensuite rooms are sometimes available). They are usually residential properties, so they tend to be located on the outskirts of towns and you should be prepared for a 20-30 minute walk to local facilities like pubs and restaurants. It's unusual for a B&B to offer any additional services like concierge, porterage, evening meals or roomservice. Wi-fi is usually, but not always available and it's worth bearing in mind that access can be unreliable in more remote locations.

    We like this tour but would only choose it if provides two single rooms with a private bath and one room with two beds and a private bath. Our timing would be late August or early September 2025.

  is that where we start and end trip from? our responsibility to get to/from there so best to get hotel extra night day before? How near to the airport is this bus station?

    All of our Scotland tours pick up, and drop off from a bus stop in St.Andrew's Square in Edinburgh. As the pick up is early in the morning, and the drop off is usually around 630-730pm in the evening, you will likely need to book your own pre/post tour accommodation in Edinburgh as well as make your own arrangements from the airport. Edinburgh has various modes of airport transportation including train, bus and taxi. I would recommend you look at a hotel around the square - or in Old Town Edinburgh (which is a 15 minute walk, or short bus / taxi - but in the heart of the city).
