Crawford Notch
You'll meet your guide and group at the AMC Highland Center in Crawford Notch at 5 PM. After introductions and getting your gear sorted out, everyone sits down together for a family-style dinner. Then you'll head to your private room for the night.

- Day 2
Crawford Notch to Lakes of the Clouds Hut
Start with a hearty buffet breakfast, then a 20-minute shuttle takes you to the trailhead. The 6.1-mile hike covers 3,800 feet of elevation gain and begins with gradual views along the Ammonoosuc River before steeper sections with rock scrambling near waterfalls. You'll take a long lunch break at Lakes of the Clouds hut above treeline, and from there you can attempt Mount Washington's summit if the weather cooperates and you're feeling up for it. After dinner you'll settle into your bunk.

Lakes of the Clouds to Mizpah Springs Hut
After breakfast in the hut, you trek 4.7 miles along the Appalachian Trail through the Presidential Peaks. You can choose to summit Mount Monroe and Mount Eisenhower or take the smoother trails that go around them. Either route gives you a ridge walk above treeline with great views before you descend steeply through the trees to Mizpah Springs hut, where dinner is waiting.

- Ridge walk above treeline with option to summit Mount Monroe (5,372 ft) and Mount Eisenhower (4,780 ft)

Mizpah Springs to Crawford Notch
You'll have your last hut breakfast, then hike 2.5 miles on a gradual descent through old-growth forest back to the AMC Highland Center trailhead. Your guide will prepare lunch there, and you'll have time to say goodbye to the people you've met before heading out.
