I hike moderately but am not accustomed to high mountains, only moderate hills. I am 65 years old. Is it sensible to book this trip or should I not?

If you can hike for 4-5 hours, I think you would really enjoy the tour. We cover roughly 10-15 km on our hikes, over 4-6 hours. The elevation is the biggest challenge, with 400-1000 meters of elevation gain on the hike. Picture walking steadily up a moderate incline at a moderate pace. We make sure you have breaks and most people that describe themselves the same way as you are totally fine on the trip! We also get lots of hikers who are 65 years of age, so that is no issue! I would say go for it.

Does 15 km, 1200 Höhenmeter mean that one covers 1200 m elevation gain or that the hike takes place at 1200 m?

The daily hikes are between 10-15 km and cover 300-1000 meters of elevation gain. The highest elevation that we reach is roughly 2500 meters.

For future reference, are there tours in July or are 2023 filled up? What fitness level are we looking at for the hikes? we are fit seniors but will that be enough?

We only have the two last departures in August 13 and 20th available at this time. As long as you are in good walking shape and don't mind a gorgeous trail, you should be a perfect fit for the tour.

My lifelong dream to come to the Yukon and it was everything I hoped for and more! High five to the Fresh Adventures crew for putting together an epic adventure I won't soon forget. The hikes were tough but absolutely worth it and the views from the top were unreal. I've been on a trip with Fresh Adventures in the Rockies before and was happy to see that they offered a Yukon trip as well. The guides, Carl and Alex were fun to be around and the rest of the group was amazing. Loved all the good times and the laughs in the van. Thanks for a great trip!Show more

  The max elevation we gain on a hike in one day is 1000 meters. If you are a keen hiker, and able to hike for 4-6 hours, at a moderate pace, you should be fine on the tour. Most of our guests are slightly concerned that they won't be able to keep up, but in reality, we never have issues with travelers making it through and enjoying the hikes! Our guides are very good at supporting you along the way. If you like hiking, and have hiked in mountains before, this trip is recommended.
