  Had the most incredible 8 days in Kenya! The entire experience was unforgettable. Every day was really well planned to allow us to see as much wildlife as possible. What made the trip even more special was the opportunity to experience the local culture and learn about the communities, their traditions and their everyday way of life. We had the chance to spend time with local families, connect with the children and learn so much about their lives. A truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. So grateful to the team for making these 8 days in Kenya so special.Show more

I always felt safe, comfortable, and excited to be having the experiences I was having.   Just finished up with the most incredible week in Kenya with Indy Escapes!! The itinerary has a perfect balance of cultural immersion and safari days. We had heaps of up close encounters with lions, zebras, giraffe, rhinos and we even saw a cheetah, leopard, hyenas, hippos and so much more!! My top 3 highlights would have to be seeing lion cubs playing with their siblings, the magical hot air balloon ride over the Maasai Mara, and visiting a local Maasai village to learn about their way of life. You can really tell Lucas had thought through every detail to make it the perfect trip as all the inclusions, accommodation, optional extras and local guides we are with for the week are amazing! I cannot recommend this trip enough for other solo travellers in their 30’s - I felt incredibly safe the entire week and met some other awesome solo travellers as well. Thanks Lucas and team for a fantastic week in Kenya!!Show more

  I had an amazing experience getting to see all the wildlife. I have done several trips with IndyEscapes and none have failed to disappoint. From the moment you get their Lucas is welcoming and always wants to do more to help you. Lucas is what makes the company and what makes a lot of people go back to him as they know they can trust in him and what he delivers. All the accommodation was really nice. I had no issues with any of the accommodation. It was on Safari so I knew what to expect in terms of Glamping and tents. Each day we will give a plan so when you want to take on the trip as some of the transfer times could be long between parks. You can never predict what animals are going to do and not be guaranteed to see everything. We were so lucky to see the start of a chase where a lions went to chase animals but was unsuccessful and we also saw the big five the jeeps as comfortable as I imagine Jeeps can be especially when your driver gets a call to say that there’s a lift and there’s only half an hour till the park closes. I will never get sick of seeing animals or animal fatigue. We saw two animal centuries, a giraffe century and an elephant sanctuary. We got there at the right time for both so we were able to feed the giraffes and also see the elephants up close. Lucas always encourages us not to touch the animals and make sure that we respect them. It wasn’t just the animals that we saw we also saw some culture. We got to go to the Reuben Centre and see how it takes care of families and provides medical care and schooling for people who would not be able to know me afford it. Lucas is very passionate about this and it shows how excited it was to see any developments in the buildings. We also got to go to see a Masai Mara village, dance with a tribe and see inside the houses and also the jewellery that they make we’ve got a full history and we got to see their families. It’s really interesting seeing these sides and knowing that it’s a safe place to go rather than do it through an independent person going through Indy escapes allowed me to experience this experience in a safe environment. We also did hot air balloon right over the Massi marra . There was so many highlight with the animals too many to mention but on the final day when we did a walking walking with a giraffes felt like a scene out of Jurassic Park when we got to walk towards the giraffes it was just amazing and being able to sit so close with guidance to a zebra was unreal. I’m really tempted to do so the same Safari next year as it was so good and well organised. It is a small company and you get that personal treatment and it’s not like talking to a commercially big company where you know they don’t care. I really can’t press Lucas high enough for organising such good drivers that were dedicated to making sure we had a safe time and a good time and even entertaining us by serenading us while we had lunch in the Masai Mara Lucas always ensure he supports locals . You can trust Lucas to deliver what he says he will deliver and I can’t wait to travel with Lucas again.Show more

  Kenya- Wow! What can I say? For starters I just want to thank our guide Lucas (the owner and manager of Indy Escapes). He was absolutely incredible and made me feel so Comfortable and safe as a solo female traveller. It was so lovely also being apart of a small company tour that is so unique and well thought out, rather than a large company with many guides. He ordered the trip in a way that could include extreme bucket list moments (such as feeding giraffes, patting elephants and watching cheetahs attack in the Masai Mara) and also relaxing times by the pool with friends while still experiencing true Kenyan culture. We got to visit a school, a special school, a slum and also be apart of several meaningful projects which felt very special too. We had such a brilliant group of 20 likeminded people, had lovely accommodations and ate such delicious and traditional food. I couldn’t recommend this trip, Lucas and Indy Escapes enough for a bucket list safari adventure! Uganda- I was recently one of Indy Escapes Uganda and Rwanda gorilla trekking tours and let me tell you, it was nothing short of mind blowing. If gorilla trekking is on your bucket list, you must join this trip! Firstly, our guide Lucas (also the creator, manager and CEO of the small travel company) was incredible and made me feel so so safe as a female solo traveller in Africa! He was such a mature, organised and fun guide with so much knowledge on Rwanda and Uganda. The gorilla trekking day was so surreal and the other guides involved were also great. This trip has a little bit of everything and is not too rushed either. I really loved this trip and would do it again!Show more

  One of the most amazing weeks of my life hands down! Indy escapes has created such a safe, inclusive space for travellers to get a well rounded trip with relaxation, amazing food, amazing excursions and a social like minded group of people. I did the Turkey Sail and it was the perfect mix of activity and also downtime to enjoy the beautiful coastline - a highlight for me, something not included was the captain of the boat taking us to feed and swim with turtles - one of many examples of the boat crew going the extra mile for our enjoyment and experience 10/10 would recommend and I will 100% be going on another Indy escape!Show more
