I had completed the Epic Central America tour which was fantastic! The tour guides were amazing, full of knowledge and loved taking us to the local places to eat the local food, I even loved the local transportation. My only issue with Geckos is as much as they preach environmentally friendly ways of living and respect for the world around us, they employed photographers on part of my trip who had no concept of those around them and no respect for the wildlife we had encountered, which really put a dampener on my holiday. Why? Because we spent majority of our time waiting on them and seeing them distress the local wildlife made me feel absolutely awful to have endorsed such people with myself being a paying traveller. All that being said, I would not travel with Gecko's tours again purely on my morals and beliefs, if Gecko's are willing to employee people with little to no respect for the world around them at no cost to those employed, I do not wish to support them.

Unfortunately my experience was not positive. I started with a list of tour that you posted that it was wrong, days and places did not tally with those indicated by tourleader at the time of the first meeting. Many costs for the activities you indicated are largely undersized. The tour is conducted with a group of people large enough. Having 33 years leads me to not completely rapportarmi with boys of 25. While I was looking for a cultural and relaxing trip, they thought only to drink and have fun. The tourleader was so immature, which threatened that some guy, one in particular who was drunk most days, you did really hurt. It was then clear that in agreement with some local restaurants and prefer to accompany us only in specific places, as they were to benefit from them. Only on two occasions I have been able, by paying out of pocket, have a guide to explain to me the local culture, to the rest of the tourleader could not help me since I do not know anything! I promised to be brief because I would have to anedoti to tell, in the meantime, I recommend you review the travel schedule and activities, because the countries are very beautiful to look at.

Amazing trip. Whirlwind tour through some of the highlights of Central America. Mario, our guide, was brilliant. Travelled with a great group of people and did some cool tours and activities. I was worried about the longer travel days but they were easy enough and the travel was broken up. The accommodation was decent (cold showers aside!) and I highly recommend this tour!

Generally had a great time and would recommend the trip. A few things I would like to mention are as follows: - The tour was advertised as having all meals included. When the booking was confirmed it stated that no meals were included. This makes for a considerable financial difference over a 17 day tour. - It would have been useful to have known that there were border crossing charges to help with budgeting. - Geckos are not allowed to promote 'high risk activities'. As an adult it would have been nice to have been offered these activities and to make our own decisions as to whether we wanted to do them rather than potentially missing out on activities. Surely a disclaimer form could be provided to negate any risk to Geckos. - Tour leader (Maria) was friendly and positive at all times and dealt with some of the more challenging members of the group in a diplomatic manner minimising disruption to the rest of the group.

Was very pleased with the ease that I was able to understand, and navigate your website. Have actually been looking at several other tour companies, some have played phone tag with me. Others have not bothered to return calls. Their websites have been difficult, to work and understand. Am super excited to be working with you. Am now working on finding affordable airfare. Thanks again. Looking forward to a wonderful adventure. Have already been giving several friends your info.
