Washington, D.C.
You'll arrive in Washington, D.C. this evening and meet your Travel Director along with other guests. There's a private Welcome Dinner with drinks scheduled, so you can get to know everyone and settle in for the trip ahead.

- Day 2
Washington, D.C. to Shenandoah National Park
Today starts with a guided tour of Washington, D.C. where you'll see the White House, Washington Monument, National Mall, and Lincoln Memorial. After that, you'll visit the National Museum of African American History and Culture. Later, you'll drive along scenic Skyline Drive into Shenandoah National Park, and you'll arrive at historic Skyland Lodge by evening.

Shenandoah National Park
Morning brings a gentle hike on the Stony Man Trail, which is part of the Appalachian Trail and offers nice views. Later you'll head to Veritas Vineyards and Winery for wine tasting and a farmhouse lunch with Blue Ridge Mountain views. You'll return to the resort hotel for a relaxed evening.

You'll check out New River Gorge National Park, the newest national park in America. Start at the Canyon Rim Visitor Centre to learn about the park's history, wildlife, and plant life. Then take a walk along the boardwalk trail for views of the New River Gorge Bridge. The rest of the day is free for you to do as you like.

You're heading to Asheville today. First, you'll tour the Citizen Vinyl record press factory to see how vinyl records are made and learn about the original WWNC radio station and studio. In the afternoon, there's a guided walking food tour through Asheville's restaurants and bars, where you'll sample food and drinks from several local spots.

The afternoon is free, so you can explore Asheville on your own.

You'll drive the Blue Ridge Parkway, one of America's most beautiful routes, to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. At the Oconaluftee Indian Village, you'll learn about Cherokee culture and history. After that, you'll explore the Mountain Farm Museum and have a picnic lunch with Smoky Mountains views. You'll stop at scenic viewpoints including Newfound Gap along the way.

After a relaxed morning, you'll visit the Museum of Appalachia to see original mountain buildings and over 250,000 artifacts that show Appalachian life and history. You'll have a Southern Appalachian lunch with authentic bluegrass music playing. Then you'll travel to Nashville, driving past honky-tonks and street performers on Broadway before reaching the historic Ryman Auditorium.

The afternoon is yours to spend as you like, maybe walking Broadway to catch live music. You'll have dinner at a local restaurant to celebrate the trip.
