Kathmandu
Touch down at Kathmandu airport where your guide from Sherpa Expedition and Trekking meets you for the transfer to your hotel in Thamel. You'll get a briefing about what's ahead on the trek so you know what to prepare for.

Kathmandu to Phakding
Head out early for a scenic 30 to 40 minute flight to Tenzing-Hilary Airport in Lukla, then start trekking along the trail toward Phakding village. You'll be walking next to the Dudh Koshi River and settling in for your first night at the lodge there.

Phakding to Namche Bazaar
This is a moderate day of walking through several villages like Toc-Toc, Benkar, and Monjo as you follow the river and cross suspension bridges. After reaching the Sagarmatha National Park entrance, you'll climb a steep section up to Namche Bazaar, a busy town full of shops, restaurants, internet cafes, and banks.

Landmarks Sagarmatha National Park - Day 4
Namche Bazaar
Stay in Namche Bazaar to let your body adjust to the altitude. You can hike up to Thame, visit Khunde, or just walk around town. Check out the Tourist Visitor Center near the park headquarters to see old climbing gear and items from the first Everest expeditions. If it's a Friday evening or Saturday, catch the weekly market.

Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
Walk along the fast moving Dudh Kosi River with its cold alpine water as you climb toward Tengboche Village at 3,860 meters. The village has wall hangings, a large Buddha statue, Tibetan instruments, and colorful robes. By evening, you can listen to prayers at the monastery.

Landmarks Tengboche Monastery - Day 6
Tengboche to Dingboche
Leave Tengboche and head down to Debouche, then cross a suspension bridge over the Imja Khola river. Pass through Pangboche and continue to Dingboche, a Sherpa town with nice views of Lhotse, Island Peak, and Ama Dablam.

Landmarks Imja Khola - Day 7
Dingboche
Take another acclimatization day and climb 400 meters up to Nangkartshang Gompa, a monastery sitting on a ridge north of Dingboche. From there you'll see Mt. Makalu at 8,463m and Mt. Ama Dablam. If you feel strong enough, you can summit Nangkartshang at 5,090 meters before heading back.

Dingboche to Chupki Lhara
Trek to Dughla Village, then move onto rocky slopes and cross the steep moraine at the Khumbu Glacier's base. Reach Chupki Lhara, a memorial site with prayer flags for climbers who died on Mt. Everest, and stay overnight at a lodge with massive peaks surrounding you.

Landmarks Khumbu Glacier Chupki Lhara Memorial - Day 9
Chupki Lhara to Everest Base Camp and Gorakshep
Head to Everest Base Camp, passing Gorakshep Lake and a memorial to Indian mountaineers. The air gets thin and walking gets harder, so you'll navigate rocks, moraine, and streams carefully. You'll see colorful tents from climbing expeditions and views of Nuptse, Khumbutse, and Pumori. After a short rest, return to Gorakshep for the night.

- Day 10
Gorakshep to Kala Patthar and Pheriche
Start very early for the trek to Kala Patthar when it's around -10 to -14°C/-13 to -10°F with wind possible. From the top, you get 360 degree views of Mt. Everest and peaks like Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse. Snap your photos and then head down to Pheriche for the night.

Pheriche to Namche Bazaar
Go down to Debouche and walk through rhododendron forest to reach Tengboche, which has a famous Buddhist monastery and snow covered peak views. After that, head to Phunki Thenga at 3,250m on the Imja Khola river banks, pass through Sanasa, and make your way back to Namche Bazaar.

Landmarks Phunki Thenga - Day 12
Namche Bazaar to Lukla
Your last trekking day takes you back down to Lukla where you'll have time to walk around the village and surrounding areas. You'll feel the accomplishment of finishing this challenging trek. Later in the evening, you might grab a drink or two to celebrate.

Lukla to Kathmandu
Catch an early 45 minute flight back to Kathmandu in the morning before the wind picks up. You'll be transferred back to your hotel in Thamel with the rest of the day free to explore the narrow, busy streets before your final night in Nepal.

Kathmandu Departure
On your last day, a representative from Sherpa Expedition and Trekking will make sure you get to the airport at least three hours before your flight. Safe travels home and they hope to see you back soon for more Himalayan adventures.
