Itinerary
- Day 1
Cairo
You'll land at Cairo International Airport where your guide meets you and helps handle immigration and customs. From there it's a direct transfer to Marriott Mena House for check-in. After the flight, you have the rest of the day to yourself to relax and get settled at the hotel.

- Day 2
Cairo
Starting early, you'll head to the Sphinx and get exclusive ground-level access to the granite quarry and the Dream Stela of Pharaoh Thutmosis VI. Then you move on to the Giza Plateau to see the three Great Pyramids with entry into Khufu's Pyramid included. After lunch you'll go to Saqqara to check out the Step Pyramid. Come evening, you'll board a private felucca for dinner on the Nile with views of central Cairo from the water.

- Day 3
Cairo
Your morning starts in Islamic Cairo at the Ibn Tulun Mosque, followed by the Gayer Anderson Museum, a historic British officer's home. You'll walk through Khan el-Khalili Bazaar and down Al-Muizz Street toward Bab el-Futuh, passing Islamic architecture and local markets along the way. Lunch is at Naguib Mahfouz Restaurant in Old Cairo, and then you head back to your hotel for the evening.

- Day 4
Cairo to Luxor
A flight takes you from Cairo to Luxor in Upper Egypt. Once you arrive, you head straight to the East Bank of ancient Thebes to explore Karnak Temple with its hypostyle hall, then visit Luxor Temple with its giant statues of Ramses the Great and the Avenue of Sphinxes. After that, you check in to your hotel.

- Day 5
Luxor
You'll explore the West Bank's Theban Necropolis starting with the Valley of the Queens and Queen Nefertari's Tomb. From there, continue to the Valley of the Kings to see Pharaoh Seti I's tomb and young Pharaoh Tutankhamon's burial chamber. Later in the day you'll visit Queen Hatshepsut's temple at Deir el-Bahri, the Colossi of Memnon, and the Medinat Habu temple complex with its detailed hieroglyphs.

- Day 6
Luxor to Esna
Check out of your hotel and drive 35 miles south to Esna, where you'll board your dahabiya, a luxury Nile river boat. You'll start sailing south along the Nile, and this afternoon take a walk to explore Esna's small temple and the surrounding streets with their textiles and goods.

- Day 7
Esna - El Kab - Edfu
The boat sails to El Kab, the former capital of Upper Egypt, and you'll walk through the fishing village to see the necropolis before returning to the boat for lunch. Later you'll cruise to Edfu where a horse and carriage takes you through town to the Temple of Horus, the best-preserved Pharaonic temple in Egypt. After visiting, you sail to a beautiful island where the boat moors for the night.

- Day 8
Nile River - Gebel Silsilis
You'll spend most of this day sailing slowly on the Nile. The boat will moor at an island where you can take a stroll or swim in the river. At dusk you'll walk in the desert through a valley with boulders covered in ancient hieroglyphs, then tie up at the floodlit temple of Gebel Silsilis for the night.

Gebel Silsilis
At Gebel Silsilis where the Nile flows between two mountain ranges at its narrowest point, you'll have a rare experience few visitors get since large cruise boats can't navigate here. You'll visit the small Temple of Horemheb and walk through ancient sandstone quarries where Egyptians cut stone for temples. Later in the day there's another chance for a swim if you'd like.

Kom Ombo
Continuing south you'll sail to Kom Ombo and visit the Temple of Two Gods honoring Sobek the crocodile god and Horus the falcon-headed sky god. You'll also tour the mummified crocodile museum and see the Nilometer where priests used the Nile flood levels to calculate taxes.

Aswan
You'll disembark from your dahabiya in Aswan and explore the High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk, and Philae Temple. By afternoon you'll check into Movenpick Aswan resort and have free time to relax and take in the property's views of the Nile's First Cataract. Later in the afternoon, set sail on a felucca around Elephantine and Kitchener's Islands, including a stop at the Botanical Gardens.

Aswan - Abu Simbel
A short flight takes you to Abu Simbel to see the Great Temples of Ramses II and his wife Nefertari. You'll return to Aswan for lunch on private Basma Island surrounded by Nile waters. This evening you'll see the Sound and Light Performance at Philae Temple, walking through the illuminated temple at night.

Aswan to Cairo
After breakfast you'll fly back to Cairo and transfer to Kempinski Nile Hotel for your final night. In the afternoon, a guided tour takes you through the Grand Egyptian Museum with its Tutankhamun collection and monumental entrance hall. The rest of the day is yours to walk along the Nile promenade or shop in Cairo's markets and boutiques.
