  This tour - through Itaca Tours - was an absolute ripoff. It wasn’t even a tour, we were not with a group. The tour operator communicated poorly and we were only given information on a need to know basis from some nameless person via WhatsApp. We spent an entire day of our ‘tour’ sitting in an airport. Because of this we missed two add on activities that we had paid for. The accommodation in Cairo was appalling and not as advertised. Other travellers who we crossed paths with along the way all had the same issues with Itaca Tours. It was absolutely the worst travel experience and we do recommend Itaca Tours to anyone.Show more

The person who managed your trip was not unknown; it was Mr. Eyad, who was in constant contact with you, along with the tour guides who accompanied you throughout the journey. 3. Regarding the waiting time at the airport, the delay was caused by an airline issue due to a technical problem with the aircraft, which was completely beyond our control. As soon as we were informed, we tried to change your flight, but it was too late because you had already checked in and your luggage was loaded on the same flight. 4. As for the activities you missed, we rescheduled everything for the next day so that you could still enjoy them. However, you chose not to join and preferred to rest. Even then, we offered compensation in Luxor with visits to Habu Temple, the Mummification Museum, and the Luxor Museum, but again, you preferred to relax at the hotel. 5. Other travelers faced the same flight delay, but they understood that it was an airline issue, not related to our company, and they still enjoyed their trip and left excellent reviews. 6.   My mother and me really enjoyed this organized trip. From the first day until the last day we felt super comfortable with our tour operator Eyad. He was available via WhatsApp and the communication worked really well. Even when suddenly there was a flight cancelled, he was available in the very early morning and helped us to get the next flight. Our guides Khaled, Yusir and Maha were also very attendant and explained a lot to us in the different cultural sites, since my mother and me are very interested in Egyptian culture and heritage. Our three guides really made the time in the temples a well informed and fun experience. And we enjoyed to be in a small group, so we could ask everything we wanted. The hotels were very nice and the accommodation highlight was the cruise ship „Royal Elite“. The staff was so polite and attendant, we were very happy with them. We can highly recommend this tour. It was really worth it. We got to know the ancient Egyptian culture and buy having our great tour guides, we could also ask a lot about Egyptian lifestyle today. Thank you so much!   Our Egypt holiday was perfect. This was our 2nd trip to Egypt so we knew what we wanted and what to expect There was only myself and my wife in our tour, so this was like a private tour. This holiday was made perfect because of the tour guides. Everything that was on our wish list was done including extra things that were recommended. Hotels were very good and transfers and internal flights were all organised. Even had high tea at the Old Cataract Hotel in Aswan. This was prebooked by our tour guide. Saqqara and Dendera optional excursions were fantastic. These included lunches which were great. Lit up Luxor temple and Kom Ombo temple at night were just amazing. Breathtakingly beautiful. Special thanks to our Cairo tour guide Mona who went above and beyond to help and advise us. She organised the new Grand Egyptian Museum tickets and entry into the Red pyramid and great pyramid. Also special thanks to tour guide Mohammed in Luxor who recommended our fantastic extra day visit to valley of the Queens and extra temples. Special thank you to Peter, Dina and Abdulla all tour guides who gave excellent information at every site visited. Drivers through out the tour were experienced, careful, and safe with clean vehicles. The 3 day Nile Cruise was perfect. Rooms on the cruise ship were clean and a good size. Also we were aware that entrance fees were not included. Please note that these were paid by card on site. Cash was not allowed. Cash was used for tipping and extra personal purchases. We also had US dollars in case. We highly recommend Itaca Holiday tour company. Thank you for a wonderful holiday in Egypt.Show more
