No — the age range shown (18–59) does not mean travelers over 59 are not allowed ? It simply reflects the typical age range of guests who usually join that tour and the general activity level. Travelers over 59 are very welcome to join as long as they are comfortable with the itinerary and daily activities. We regularly have guests in their 60s (and sometimes beyond) who travel with us and have a great experience.

Can you tell me what are the costs of staying one night earlier and one night after the tour at the same day 1 and day 17 hotels.

Can you organize pick up at Bucharest airport? On day 17 when will the tour finish? Will we have time to board the flight at 9:05pm? If we stay one more night in Sofia, will we be taken back to the hotel when the tour finishes?

Can you confirm if Hotel Mercure Unirii is likely to change as we want to stay in same hotel the night before the tour starts

The designated itinerary hotel is Mercure Unirii, which is unlikely to change. However, tour arrangements are finalised within 60 days of the tour departure date. The starting itinerary hotel will be fully confirmed within this period with a pre-departure information.

I want to explore the Balkans yet I also want to go to Kosovo. Can we depart the tour in Skopje [early Day 16] and miss the last day returning to Sofia, which would allow us to independently go to Kosovo.

You may choose to leave the tour in Skopje on Day 16 instead of returning to Sofia with the group. This would allow you to travel independently to Kosovo.

Do you also help to book airfares? Can you please let me know how much I need to pay to book this tour now and whether we pay in instalments or all up front. If we decided after depositing to not do this tour soon after booking so we lose our deposit or get a refund? Or a credit towards another tour. Is there an age limit.. We do not arrange or book airfare – flights would need to be organized independently. For the tour payment, you can pay in instalments up until the balance due date (60 days before departure). Our cancellation policy is as follows: 60 days or more prior to departure: Deposit is retained by Travel Talk. We do not offer a credit system. There is no age restriction on our tours, so you and your companion are very welcome to join.

The age requirement of this group is under 59 years old. My wife is 52 years old and I am 68 years old. I am very healthy. So far, we have travelled to 52 countries. We have to travel every year. I run 10 kilometres every other day and do anaerobic exercise the next day. I want to join this group. Do you think it's okay?

Overall amazing trip. It was a mix of 3 Trips (all operated by Travel Tours) packaged into one. The Transylvania portion contains lots of unknown small towns and castles. Most of which are pretty interesting. The hotels are a bit mediocre and in the outskirts. The tour guide (Konstantsa) was awesome. Very attentive and great personality. Made sure everyone has an amazing time. The Balkan portion of the trip is very fast paced, as you are switching countries almost every day and that means going through 2 border checks. Lots of traveling on the bus but the absolutely stunning vistas going through many beautiful lakes and mountains will make up for it for sure. It's totally worth it. The hotels were much better (really good) than the first part but still in the outskirts. We were able to take Uber, taxi, e-bikes to get can to town afterwards and return to hotel late at night without any issues though. But the best part of this trip is definitely gonna be your travel guide Simon 🏆. Absolutely the best travel guide I've ever encountered. Extremely knowledgeable about the Balkans, got very interesting perspective to share, very engaging, entertaining, amazing sense of humor and knows how much information to give when, without overwhelming your brain. Also has a winning personality and goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is comfortable and having an awesome time. Totally 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Your days will start at 8am after breakfast and it's gonna be all traveling and sight seeing till 7 pm in the evening, with plenty of short breaks for comfort, grabbing a coffee or lunch. Very well timed and planned. Everyday you'll have a walking tour and then few hours to explore on your own. 7pm-ish is when you get to the hotel. Overall very packed day but efficiently designed to give you the maximum out of those hours. Opt-in for the optional activities, especially the boat tours as it'll be very relaxing after many days of exploring and history lessons. Last point, Christian and his Bus ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. He is the best at what he does, and someone you will absolutely trust to navigate through those narrow curvy roads high up in the mountains, day or night. The long bus rides were actually very enjoyable partly for the views but also partly because it Christian. The bus itself is extremely comfortable with AC and enough space, with great seats. Overall, totally worth the money if you are in the mood for a trip which is fast paced, packed with agendas, and gives you a good glimpse (and more) into Eastern Europe without you having to figure out the completed transport (the train service isn't great unlike other parts of Europe) situation and border crossing, this is the one to take. Areas of improvement: More time in each city and hotels near central. That's it.Show more

  Airport transfer is not included on 17 April. The included pick-up is only on Day 1 of the tour, 18 April. The tour finishes around midday, so you will have sufficient time to make a 9:05 pm flight. The tour does not include a transfer back to the hotel at the end of the tour. Transfers are included only upon arrival on the first day of the tour.

Vaccines
- These are only indications, so please visit your doctor before you travel to be 100% sure.
- Typhoid - Recommended for Albania.Romania. Ideally 2 weeks before travel.
- Hepatitis A - Recommended for Albania.Bosnia.Bulgaria.Macedonia.Serbia.Romania.Montenegro. Ideally 2 weeks before travel.
- Hepatitis B - Recommended for Albania.Bosnia.Bulgaria.Croatia.Macedonia.Serbia.Romania.Montenegro. Ideally 2 months before travel.
- Yellow fever - Certificate of vaccination required if arriving from an infected area for Albania. Ideally 10 days before travel.
- Tick-borne encephalitis - Recommended for Albania.Croatia. Ideally 6 months before travel.
- Tuberculosis - Recommended for Bosnia.Bulgaria.Romania. Ideally 3 months before travel.
Visa
- Unfortunately we cannot offer you a visa application service. Whether you need a visa or not depends on your nationality and where you wish to travel. Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.
- Here is an indication for which countries you might need a visa. Please contact the local embassy for help applying for visas to these places.
Payment information
- For any tour departing before May 19th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after May 19th, 2026, a minimum payment of $150 is required to confirm your booking with Travel Talk. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 65 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Travel Talk will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "Travel Talk" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
Cancellation Policy
- Your money is safe with TourRadar, as we only pay the tour operator after your tour has departed.
- TourRadar is an authorized Agent of Travel Talk. Please familiarize yourself with the Travel Talk payment, cancellation and refund conditions.
