  • J

    Asked on January 25th, 2023

We have some mobility issues and need to know how much walking is involved in this tour.

    Tour Details
    • TrafalgarOperatorWritten January 2023

To provide more information, this trip would be considered balanced. There would be about 1-3 miles of walking per day and may include some uneven surfaces such as stairs or cobblestone streets.

Guests are expected to be able to get on and off the coach multiple times a day without assistance. Guests should check in with the Travel Director if they have any concerns about a particular activity to make an informed decision on if it would be best to participate or not.

Guests are able to bring assistive devices such as walkers or canes but would need to be fully responsible for them.

    Asked on January 12th, 2023

What's the ratio of sightseeing time to relaxing time during the day? Do the hotels have pools so the kids can relax after sightseeing? Also what happens when you are travelling between countries? Is there passport control and baggage check each time? Are we throwing bottled water and shampoos away? Lastly, do the hotels have good air conditioning?

    Accommodation
    Tour Details
    • TrafalgarOperatorWritten January 2023

      1. What's the ratio of sightseeing time to relaxing time during the day?
      - Usually optional experiences are after lunchtime, if you did not book for it then it will be your free time
      - The time on the coach can vary day by day based on how far you need to travel, but you would not be on the coach longer than 2 and a half hours without a comfort stop to use the restroom and stretch, maybe buy some snacks or it may even be a sightseeing stop as well.

      2. Do the hotels have pools so the kids can relax after sightseeing?
      - Most of the hotels that you will be staying at have swimming pools.

      3. What happens when you are traveling between countries? Is there passport control and baggage check each time? Are they throwing empty bottled water and empty shampoo bottles
      - There will be passport control and baggage check each time you travel to different countries as that is their protocol for security purposes.
      - Yes, they are throwing empty bottled water and empty shampoo bottles

      4. Do the hotels have good air conditioning?
      - We select our hotels for their quality, impeccable service, and comfort. And the majority of them have to air-condition.

    • M

      Molly

      TravelerWritten January 2023

I am not sure that I understand some of your replies. Can you clarify a bit more? Item 1. I thought your guides are taking us to different places in the cities. Are they going that in the morning and then the afternoon is our free time? Item 2. Are we on a coach everyday or is this just when we are going between countries? Item 3. Are we staying in city centers? And do these hotels have air conditioning and pools? Item 4. Are you saying that every time we cross a border by bus or train our baggage is going to be checked and we need to throw away our liquids? Why would they make us throw away liquids if we are traveling by bus/train?

    • TrafalgarOperatorWritten January 2023

      1. Your Travel Director is set up to be with you daily. However some days you may have free time available. Whenever there is a day of free time available, there is usually an optional/optionals offered that you can do during that time. Should you chose to do an optional you will either be with a Local Host or your Travel Director, depending on the optional excursion. If you choose to not take an optional that we offer during that free time and decide to do something else on your own, then the Travel Director will not be with you in whatever else you decide to do during that free time.

      2. You will be on a motorcoach transportation most of your trip. On one day it looks like there is boat that will be a point of transportation and then at the end of the trip to London it will transportation by rail.

      3. The hotels we book are 4-5 star ratings and near the city centers including air conditioning. Pools vary per hotel.

      4. We'll have to double check with our operations team in regard to this question.

      TravelerWritten January 2023

Following up from previous. I want to make sure about a couple of things. First of all we need a private room at the hotels with 3 twin beds. We cannot sleep in a double bed and a sofa bed. We need two twin beds and a sofa bed or 3 twin beds. The hotel room should at minimum have air conditioning, a safe for valuables, and a private bathroom. Can you guarantee this throughout the tour? Secondly, tell me about a day on the tour. Is the tour guide taking us to a museum and sights during the morning and then we do something ourselves in the afternoon? Does the tour guide give an overview of items on the tour? What is the local host doing?

    • TrafalgarOperatorWritten January 2023

If you book a triple room, we cannot guarantee three beds. The bedding could possibly be either a double bed and a rollaway, two twin beds and a sofa bed, two double beds. We can put in any request, however no guarantees.

On the trip there are day by day planned itineraries, which you will travel with your Travel Director and the rest of the group. Somedays there will be "free time" which we would offer optional excursions to take at an additional cost or you can do your own thing during that free time and just let your Travel Director know what you are doing instead.

Local Host are people who are from the area and would provide a locally hosted activity.

      Hi Taryn,
This is the same situation. It says it starts in London, but then Day 1 is Amsterdan. I am travelling from Canada. If I am booking this tour, I need to know what city I am flying to for the start of the tour. The information given does not match up to the details. Can you confirm, where does the tour actually start. ie...where do I fly to??

    • TrafalgarOperatorWritten November 2022

if you look at the itinerary, you fly into Amsterdam and out of London. That is what shows on the link I sent and would be the most current routing of the trip.

    • TrafalgarOperatorWritten September 2022

Generally - with one or two exceptions - the daily start time is 630-730 each day.

For your first trip to Europe, it's a long travelling time from Australia so we'd recommend arriving into Europe at least the day before the trip starts (if not two) just to adjust to the time and overcome any jet lag you might have.
