We want the trip to start from our hotel in Cairo to Aswan with airplane. The departure time from Cairo should be December 25th 2026 and back to Cairo after the end of the trip from Luxor with airplane. Yes, the package includes the domestic flights as stated in the itinerary, along with the other included services and sightseeing. A Portuguese-speaking guide can also be arranged for your departure on December 14, 2026, at an additional cost of EUR 1,000 per person throughout.

As 2 couples we want to pay splitting the bill in half. How do we do this?

Yes, both couples can make separate bookings for the same departure date at the same time, allowing each couple to pay for their own booking separately. When booking, each couple can select a double or twin room as preferred. Once both bookings are confirmed, please send us the booking references so we can link them together and ensure you travel as the same group.

It says you pick us up at the airport and transfer to your hotel. What is the name of the Hotel ?

You are welcome to keep your own hotel in Cairo; however, the hotel included in the package is part of the tour price and unfortunately cannot be deducted or refunded if you choose not to use it. Overall we enjoyed our tour. There are a few things which we would say. The tour operator books the internal flights on the day before you travel, I assume this allows them to get the best price, but not knowing when you will get back to Cairo on the final day prevents you from booking your return flight home for the same day. This meant that we had no option but to book an extra night in a hotel and fly back the following day. The company intimated they would book this for 150usd, but you can book a really good hotel near the airport for almost half of this yourself (we stayed at le passage, really good hotel and staff were very helpful) The itenary was not clear about where the tour ended. We thought we would be picked up from Cairo airport and transported to our hotel at the end, but no, we were left to make our own arrangements being told our tour ended at the airport when we messaged. We did ask Mo (who is the man on the ground for the company) when we first met him if the airport transfer was included and he said yes, but this wasn't the case, I can only assume he got us muddled up. I think the weakness with Beyond the Nile tours is they have multiple different tours running at one time and throw groups together. Our group had 5 different couples/individuals who were doing different things before and after the tour. Things do come together, but if you want a trip which is entirely clear in advance then consider somebody else, or ask for written clarity before you travel. You will also be asked to pay for tickets and contribute to a tipping kitty. The tipping kitty is a good idea, but the reality is everybody will still try to get tips from you regardless, so you need to make a decision how you are going to deal with this. In truth the overt pressure to tip and being seen as a walking wallet somewhat spoiled the trip for us. I appreciate people are poor and trying to get by, but its absolutely relentless. Like other comments before I tend to think the entrance fee payment is inflated, it isn't that much to get in to any one place, I see this has been raised by a number of previous travellers and no reply has been afforded, if it isn't inflated then they should be able to provide a break down, but none is given. I quickly had a look Giza 700 egp GEM 1450 Luxor temple 200 Karnak temple 600 valley of the kings 750 Edfu temple 500 Kom ombo temple 450 Philae temple 200 total cost 4850 egp charge by company for entrance fees 8200 egp My workings are from the internet and may not be a 100% accurate but it proves the point. They upsell additional tours quite strongly. I think everybody knows tour companies always mark these up, so I dont think they are great value for money. The trip to Alexandria was disappointing, the Nubian village was a glorified boat ride to some brightly painted houses where more folk try to sell you things. Abu Simbel is well worth it because of what it is, still a lot of money, but a great memory. The horse ride in Luxor was fun, but cost the two of us 50 usd, you could probably book it yourself for a fifth of that if you can be bothered haggling. We also did the Karnak sound and light which again was overpriced, it was good, but you could do it yourself much cheaper if you wanted to. Points to consider. Ensure you bring smaller egyptian notes if possible to deal with the tipping issue. If you dont like a relentless pace with everyday involving an early rise to beat the crowds and heat then this tour is not for you. You can wander about yourself in the afternoons when docked, but you will be pestered to within an inch of your life. Egyptians arent bad people, I think they are predominately good, but it seems acceptable to lie to try and get a tip or money (you walk down the street and everybody will tell you they work on your boat just to try to get a hook in). As an ex police officer I would say I dont think you ever are at risk, but eventually you realise you have to set your default to I dont believe a word you are saying and just to ignore them, if you dont you are in for a long trip. With our tour the hotel and boat were both pretty good, no real complaints. You have to be cautious about eating. Remember salads are washed in Egyptian water. All of our group had stomach issues at some point. So only eat warm, prepared food and no matter how good the salad looks, avoid at your own risk. Consider taking medication to deal with Egyptian stomach before you go or at the outset, if you look you can get things which deal with the bacteria which may cause this. Use uber when you are out under your own steam. The driving is the worst I have ever seen and I am well travelled. Its really, really cheap on Uber and we found it very safe and reliable. Just accept that repeated horn sounding and abrupt lane changes are part of their culture. All of the tourist "tat" is really marked up. For instance we wanted 3 brass figures, the guys started off at 8,000 and was eventually offering them for 2000. Even 2000 is an awful lot for them. If you are happy that it isnt that dear for you then accept it. If you like haggling then knock yourself out, but always walk away, its part of the process. I would suggest most things are certainly priced at 4-6 times more than what you will get them for. All of the sites you will see are great, and quite safe. You will have tour guides. We had one for Alexandria and one for Cairo, I cannot remember their names. The Alexandria one and Cairo one were ok, they are full of facts but it felt a bit like a lecture. The guide on the boat part of the trip is Ahmed, and in truth he is the jewel in the crown of the whole thing. I saw lots of people making this comment on previous reviews and have to endorse what they say. He is a very good chap who is helpful and attentive. He gives you the information, but it feels easier to absorb and is pitched just right. He goes out of his way to help and is quite lighthearted. He is the five stars at the heart of this review.Show more

What we loved: The sites themselves were spectacular, and the guides were consistently professional, knowledgeable, and passionate about sharing Egypt’s incredible history. The variety of excursions, excellent value, and clear communication regarding tips, and additional fees were all appreciated. A special thank you to Big Mo, who did an outstanding job coordinating our trip and keeping everything running smoothly. His communication and attention to detail made a real difference. We were also fortunate to have some exceptional guides throughout our travels: Abdul guided us through the pyramids at Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum. His knowledge and enthusiasm made for an incredible day, helping us better understand and appreciate the history and significance of everything we were seeing. Medhat spent three days with us during our Nile cruise. He was incredibly knowledgeable and went out of his way to ensure we understood the history of each site. He was attentive to everyone’s needs, patient with questions, and genuinely invested in making our experience special. Fatima guided our additional excursion to the Red Pyramid, Step Pyramid, and Sneferu’s pyramids. This was a wonderful addition to our itinerary and gave us the opportunity to explore more of Egypt’s fascinating history beyond the traditional tourist stops. A little room for improvement: The cruise schedule meant some very early mornings and late nights. We recognize that much of this is unavoidable due to boat schedules and the distances between sites. Our biggest suggestion would be better coordination of the final day’s departure. After checking out of our cabin and completing a full day of sightseeing, we spent several hours waiting on the boat before our evening airport transfer. An earlier flight or alternative arrangements would have made the final day more comfortable. Even if there was an option to pay for a hotel room for 5 hours to sleep and shower and morning site-seeing. A suggestion for future tours: Tourism is such an important part of Egypt’s economy, and we would love to see more opportunities for travelers to connect with and directly support local communities. Some meaningful additions might include: * Visits to local businesses, restaurants, or art programs that employ and support people with disabilities. * Opportunities to visit or support organizations caring for Egypt’s street animals. * Community-based experiences where tourism dollars directly benefit local families, artisans, and underserved populations. Travel is about so much more than seeing beautiful places. It’s also about connecting with people, understanding different cultures, and hopefully leaving a little good behind. Overall, we absolutely loved our time in Egypt. The history is extraordinary, the people were wonderful, and we left with memories we will treasure. We are grateful to Big Mo and all of our guides for helping make this such a special experience. We would happily recommend this tour to others and hope to come back to Egypt one day.Show more

Absolutely phenomenal tour—would recommend to anyone! From beginning to end, we were taken care of with hospitality and kindness from Mohammed who arranged our tour. Next, our tour guides were incredible. Abdul was so knowledgeable of the pyramids and all things Cairo, and Medhat made our tour down the Nile to Aswan and Luxor outstanding. Medhat was with us for most of the days and ensured our comfort and learning experience were top priority! Meanwhile, we had a flight back to the US at midnight when the tour ended and our flight back to Cairo was barely going to get us there in time. I contacted Mohammed about my concern and he got me in touch with Ahmed who rescheduled our flight immediately! I was so impressed with the professionalism and am so thankful for their kindness and hospitality. I would recommend this tour to anyone, especially for those that don’t want to deal with the hassle of figuring out the significant transportation required by the trip to Egypt. We are a family of 4 adults. We want to take the trip. However, we do not need accommodation or trip to Giza and National Museum in Cairo; as we are in Cairo some days before the trip starts. We want the trip to start from our hotel in Cairo to Aswan with airplane. The departure time from Cairo should be December 25th 2026 and back to Cairo after the end of the trip from Luxor with airplane. The proposed arrangement would be: December 25, 2026: Pickup from your Cairo hotel and flight Cairo → Aswan. Begin the Nile Cruise from Aswan to Luxor. Included sightseeing in Aswan, Kom Ombo, Edfu, and Luxor. At the end of the cruise, flight Luxor → Cairo. We can prepare the revised itinerary and price for 4 adults, subject to cruise and domestic flight availability.
