- Day 1
Lukla to Phakding
After your 40-minute flight lands at Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla, you'll walk through Chaurikharka village and head down toward Dudhkoshi Ghat before reaching Phakding. It's a short day designed to help you start getting used to the altitude. You'll have time to check out local monasteries like Rimishung Monastery and get ready for what's ahead on the trek.

Phakding to Namche Bazaar
Following the northern bank of the Dudh Koshi River, you'll cross several suspension bridges including the Hillary Suspension Bridge. The trail goes through thick forests, which can be tough but feels rewarding. You'll stop at Sagarmatha National Park Check Post to register your permits, then catch your first view of Mt. Everest. From there, you descend through wooded areas and rocky terrain to reach Namche Bazaar, which serves as the main hub for Everest trekkers.

Namche Bazaar
This day is set aside for acclimatization at altitude. Namche Bazaar has cafes, restaurants, shops, and Wi-Fi so you can walk around and get your bearings. Several options are available if you want to stay active, like visiting the Sagarmatha National Park visitor centre, checking out Khumjung village with Hillary School and old monasteries, or hiking to Everest View Hotel for views of Mt. Everest. You can also visit yak farms on the way back down, or head to a Sherpa settlement to learn how people live here.

Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
You'll trek toward Tengboche with views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam throughout the day. The terrain has steep sections going up and down through the Himalaya, and you might spot musk deer, pheasants, or Himalayan Thar. After crossing the Dudh Koshi river and walking through thick alpine forests, you'll reach Phunki Thenga where there are good village views. Then comes a steep climb through pine forest to Tengboche and its significant Buddhist monastery.

Tengboche to Dingboche
Heading toward Pangboche, you'll pass Chortens and mani walls while seeing Ama Dablam. The path gets easier as you enter Imja Valley and follow the Lobuche river. You'll go down to the river, then face the toughest climb of the day to reach Dingboche at higher elevation. The village sits surrounded by stone-walled fields growing barley, buckwheat, and potatoes. This is a more demanding day because of the altitude gain.

Dingboche
Another acclimatization day at high altitude, though you won't just be resting. You'll take walks up the ridge above Dingboche to see close-up views of snow-capped Lhotse, the back side of Ama Dablam, and Island Peak. Along the way you'll also see Cho Oyu and Makalu, six of the world's highest mountains. The valley offers wide views of the Khumbu Khola area and the Dingboche village itself.

Dingboche to Lobuche
Mountain views stay with you for most of the trek to Lobuche. The trail opens into a wide valley with a short uphill section near a ridge-top shrine, then crosses a glacial moraine and passes a small lodge area. As you climb higher, the peak views get better. You'll go through Thukla and see parts of Lobuche before reaching memorial statues honoring climbers who died in the region, a reminder of how serious trekking here can be. Lobuche appears below as you arrive.

Lobuche to Everest Base Camp to Gorak Shep
Start your early morning trek to Everest Base Camp, heading through the lateral moraine of Khumbu Glacier. You'll reach Gorak Shep where the lodges end and snow-covered mountains rise all around. After viewing Army Mountaineers Memorials, you'll get to Everest Base Camp itself, the closest point to the world's highest mountain. Take time to photograph and take in the accomplishment, see the Khumbu Glacier, and then head back to Gorak Shep for the evening.

- Day 10
Kala Patthar to Pheriche
Hike to Kala Patthar at sunrise to see Mt. Everest and the surrounding peaks in the early light. This well-known viewpoint has prayer flags hung along the rocky trail and gives wide views in all directions. After spending time there, trek back to Gorak Shep for breakfast and a break, then keep going down to Pheriche, a small village. The path takes you through forests and meadows on an enjoyable trek with views of Mt. Everest as you move to lower ground.

Pheriche to Namche Bazaar
A full day of trekking takes you from high elevation back down. You'll return to Namche Bazaar by going through Tengboche and crossing the Dudh Koshi river. Spending another night in this Sherpa town gives you a chance to walk around, check out how people live, and let your body recover after the higher altitude trekking.

Namche Bazaar to Lukla
Your final trekking day brings you back to Lukla. You'll descend through Dudh Koshi valley, and from this direction the landscape looks completely different from when you came up. Soon after you'll reach Lukla, the town where you started the trek. You'll stay overnight here to prepare for your flight back to Kathmandu the next morning.

Lukla to Kathmandu
After breakfast, you'll fly back to Kathmandu on a relaxing 40-minute flight, bringing your Everest Base Camp trek to a close. When you land in Kathmandu, head to your hotel at your own pace. If you'd like, the company can set up a city tour covering UNESCO World Heritage sites, Durbar Squares, and other tourist spots with an experienced guide.
