Itinerary
- Day 1
Entebbe to Queen Elizabeth National Park
You'll leave Entebbe early in the morning heading southwest toward Mbarara. The first stop is the Equator, where you can grab photos at this geographical marker before continuing on. After that, you'll drive through tea and banana plantations, descending into the western rift valley where there's a decent chance of spotting elephants and buffalo along the way. Lunch happens in Mbarara, and by evening you'll settle in at your lodge for dinner.

- Day 2
Queen Elizabeth National Park
Start before sunrise for an early morning game drive, looking for lion, buffalo, elephant, Uganda kob, and if you're lucky, leopard. The park has over 600 bird species around, so you'll see kingfishers, eagles, and falcons throughout the drive. In the afternoon, you'll take a 2-hour launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel where hippos, buffaloes, and elephants come to drink and cool off. Head back to the lodge for dinner.

Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You'll drive to the Ishasha sector for a game drive searching for climbing lions in fig trees along with elephants and leopards. From there, continue south into Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which has roughly half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas. You'll cross the Equator, pass through Ankole grassland where long-horned Ankole cattle roam, and arrive at your lodge in the Kigezi Highlands by dinner time.

- Day 4
Mountain Gorilla Trekking
After breakfast, you'll head out early with professional guides and trackers for mountain gorilla trekking. It's physically demanding but absolutely worth it, bringing you face to face with these gentle giants as they feed, groom, rest, and play. You'll carry a packed lunch to eat in the forest during your trek. Following the trek, you'll transfer to Kabale town and then continue on to Lake Bunyonyi for the evening.

Lake Bunyonyi
This morning you'll take a boat ride visiting different islands on Lake Bunyonyi, checking out the local communities and their various projects. You'll spot different bird species while taking in the undulating terraced hills that give this region its distinctive character (it was once called the Switzerland of Africa). Return to your lodge by evening for dinner.
