What is the best time to come on the trek on Everest Base Camp?

The best trekking season starts from mid-September to mid-December in Nepal. The best months to trek to Everest region are pre-monsoon (February, March, April, and May) and the post-monsoon (Late September, October, November, and December) especially in Everest Base camp.

Are Showers available on the trek?

The major places like Namche Bazaar and Lukla in the Everest region have a guesthouse with a hot shower. Otherwise, hotel water in a bucket will be provided for the shower. But for this, you have to pay an extra USD 3-4 per shower.

Who will be your guide?

Oriental Journeys will provide you a government licensed holder local English speaking guide. We can also provide guides who speak French, Spanish, Japanese, German and any other if you prefer. But for them, you have to pay extra cost.

How much additional money do I need per day?

It depends on your personal interests and spending habits. While you stay in Kathmandu, you can allocate per person $50 to 70 for lunch and dinner in Kathmandu. You can allocate approximately $ 300 to 350 per person to buy meals and drinks during the trek.

Can I charge my camera and other equipment on my trip?

The charging facilities will be available in some hotel receptions, however; we have to pay for this service. Please do not forget to bring two or three pin travel adapters with you while coming in trekking.

What happens if I will be suffering from altitude sickness problem?

You are accompanied by well-trained guides who are trained in first aid and altitude problems. Furthermore, the guide will carry the first aid kit during the trek. However, it would be better if you bring your personal first aid kit along with you. Our guide will care you in your meal plan which protects you from altitude sickness problems. Furthermore, our guides also carry local mobile phones and SAT phones in case of emergency.

How long does it take to walk in Everest base camp?

Normally, the trek completes within 12 days. It takes 8 days to get to base camp and four days to get back down. However, based on the pace of the walk, time availability and physical fitness, the itinerary can be customized.

I have recently completed my 14 days Everest Base Camp with my son. It is amazing adventure with scenic beauty, cultural interaction with adventure hike. Weather supported us with a big sun and blue skies everyday despite the more cold temperature as you go high. Both of our guides, Aneel and Pasang were both very attentive at all times. Took care after us as family providing all necessary briefing. The shops are bit expensive but they are delicious. There were 9 of us on our trek and so with our two guides we became a very close group and we enjoyed the entire trip. Thanks to the Operator and team too.Show more

- For any tour departing before July 7th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after July 7th, 2026, a minimum payment of 35% is required to confirm your booking with Oriental Journeys Pvt. Ltd.. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
