Brad· October 31st, 2025It’s hard to put into words how extraordinary our luxury Inca Trail trek to Machu Picchu truly was. From the moment we were met in Cusco by our guides and support team, we knew this was going to be something special, not just a hike, but a deeply moving, flawlessly orchestrated journey through history, nature, and culture. Every detail had been thought of. Our guides were knowledgeable, full of warmth and humor, weaving stories of Incan engineering, ancient rituals, and mountain legends into each day’s trek. They had a sense for when to pause for photos, when to rest, and when to simply stand in silence as the clouds rolled across the Andes. The staff, the team of porters, chefs, and support crew were nothing short of heroic. Somehow, while we hiked with light packs, they would race ahead to set up an immaculate campsite! Reaching Machu Picchu on the final day felt like the culmination of something much greater than a hike, it was a pilgrimage. Our guides secured the perfect timing to enter through the Sun Gate just as the first light hit the citadel. This journey exceeded every expectation of comfort, care, and connection. The professionalism and heart of every guide, porter, chef, and organizer turned a challenging trek into an unforgettable, soul-stirring experience. If you’re dreaming of the Inca Trail and want to do it in absolute style and comfort, this is the team to trust.Show moreTrip date: September 2025
Ciprian· October 27th, 2025The trail was very well organized, our both tour guides, Nilton and Evan were excellent, caring, they had great knowledge about Inca sites and history, even about the plants! The staff made our trail very comfy and unforgettable, the food was amazing! Thank you Trexperience!Show moreTrip date: October 2025
Max· September 15th, 2025This was one of the hardest challenges I have personally faced and TreXperience made the journey so much easier. The Chef, Sous chef, Head Porter and Porter gang themselves were absolutely incredible. Highly recommend hiking the Inka Trail to Machu Pichu with this company. Food was incredible and plentiful (Big Thanks to "Alejandro" and "Bruno") Dan "The Legend" Tour guide was knowledgeable and funny, a brilliant guide to have with many stories and motivational speeches. Guide Assistant "Rayo" was always cheerful and trying his best to keep people moving and motivated for the long walks (at your own pace as well, not pressured once). Everything was explained day in and day out with no confusion and all in all it was a great experience. The Porters carried all additional personal belongings, clothes and extras in the duffle bags as well as all the food and necessary camp gear that make the journey easier, its amazing what they do. Massive thanks to them and Head Porter "Alfredo". So big, big thank you for this comapny for making this happen!!!Show moreTrip date: August 2025
Sergi· July 15th, 2025Automatic translation available in English. View in EnglishWe have just completed the Inca Trail with TreXperience agency and the experience has been exceptional. Our guide Daniel made us enjoy every moment with his closeness, humor and deep knowledge about the Inca culture, which he knew how to transmit to us with passion at all times. Thanks to him, we felt that we were truly walking in the footsteps of this ancient civilization. We would also like to highlight Anthony, an exceptional guide, always attentive and committed, very close to all of us. We would also like to thank Chef Ismael, who surprised us every day with his delicious cuisine, even in such demanding conditions. However, I think it is important to point out an aspect that affects all companies in general: the working conditions of the porters. It is clear that they work in disproportionate circumstances, and we consider it essential that their conditions be reviewed and improved as a matter of urgency. On the other hand, the toilets of the facilities along the route were in a deplorable state, becoming unhealthy and inhumane. It would be necessary to implement a regular cleaning, supervision and maintenance service to guarantee minimum hygienic and dignified conditions for all hikers and workers. In summary, it has been a unique and unforgettable experience, crowned with the arrival at Machu Picchu, which was simply spectacular and unforgettable. We hope that in the future progress will also be made in the dignity of those who make this adventure possible.Show moreTrip date: July 2025- JRJason· April 8th, 2025We had a excellent experience, great tour guide trexperienceShow moreTrip date: March 2025
- EHEllen· January 4th, 2025Big shout out to Trexperience, I don’t know if they ever had a customer as confused as me, I must have changed my mind 20+ times during the booking process over which tour I wanted, what dates would work and what equipment I needed as well as with my travel arrangements even after the trek was completed. They remained patient and kind throughout and accommodated all my needs. The trek was exactly what I was looking for. Tour guide Manolo is so deep and passionate he truly brought the mountains alive for me as well as steering us clear of the crowds and ensuring we had the best experience possible. Tour guide Meliton was an angel, taking beautiful care of the whole group throughout, what a treat to be woken in the morning with a coffee poured by Meliton. Head porter Toro always had the warmest smile for us, the whole porter operation was clearly on point. And our chef Celso and sous chef Juanita -I don’t know how they were able to produce such luxurious feasts everyday that were clearly cooked with love, just amazing. Overall, it was simply a privilege to be looked after so well on this once-in-a-lifetime experience, thank you so much Trexperience!Show moreTrip date: December 2024
Polina· December 28th, 2024The tour was incredibly organized and overall an amazing experience. The guides were very patient and helpful, the food cooked for our meals delicious, and we received support and information along the way. I have no criticisms for the tour.Show moreTrip date: December 2024- SQSam· December 26th, 2024I recently completed an incredible Inca Trail trek, and it was truly an experience of a lifetime! Our guide, Raynoldo, was outstanding. His knowledge of Inca history and personal stories made every step of the journey engaging and memorable. Raynoldo’s encouragement and positivity kept the group motivated, especially during the tougher sections of the trail while giving attention to the ones who were struggling the most. The organization, amazing food, and overall attention to detail exceeded my expectations from the porters and chefs. If you're considering the Inca Trail, I highly recommend this tour and ask for Raynoldo; he’s the best!Show moreTrip date: December 2024

Asked on December 10th, 2025I am 67yrs old, in good health generally, but not super athletic, the other person is 63 and similar health situation, is this the sort of tour that we would be comfortable doing, also we do not have much experience with camping again is that something that we could be comfortable doing, or is there a tour similar to this one, but the accommodation is in hotels, finally if we can ask if the altitude would be an issue doing hiking
TreXperienceOperator•Written December 2025Is the Inca Trail comfortable for travelers aged 63–67 with moderate fitness? Yes, absolutely, as long as you are in generally good health and enjoy walking. Every year we host many travelers in their 60s and 70s who complete the Inca Trail successfully and happily. Are there alternatives with hotel nights if we prefer more comfort? Yes, if you prefer a more comfortable option, I highly recommend the Salkantay Trek 5 days / 4 nights (with hotel on night 4). Will altitude be a problem? Altitude affects everyone differently, even very athletic people. However, in your case, the key is proper acclimatization.

Traveler•Written December 2025Unfortunately the 2 dates you have offered us are not possible as we go to Boliva from Cusco on the night of 23rd. Is there anything else available that begins 20th and we could possibly consider that

Traveler•Written December 2025I have tried booking the Salkantay trek 4 days 3 nights beginning 20th May, but unfortunately i am over the age limit that's allowed to book, i will be 68yrs old this coming January, what are your thoughts please
TreXperienceOperator•Written December 2025Your age is not a limitation for joining the Salkantay Trek 4 days / 3 nights. Since you mentioned that you are in good physical condition, there is absolutely no problem. If you still feel unsure or prefer something less demanding I can offer you a wonderful alternative: Short Inca Trail 2 Days / 1 Night + Hotel in Aguas Calientes. This is a beautiful, moderate trek suitable for all ages.

TreXperienceOperator•Written December 2025May 21st is still available. The price for this tour is USD 639 per person. Asked on August 20th, 2025As a family of three we would rather occupy the one four man tent as this will allow us to stay together and reduce our costs. We are small people so a four man tent is suffiecient for three of us. Is this possible?
TreXperienceOperator•Written August 2025Yes, it is possible for two or three people to share the same tent. We usually provide four-person tents, but we only accommodate two people per tent for added comfort. However, if the three of you are traveling together and prefer to share one tent, we can certainly arrange that!

Asked on July 28th, 2025how strenuous is the hike, I am 50 and walking is not a problem but never did a hard hike
TreXperienceOperator•Written July 2025The Classic Inca Trail is considered moderate to challenging, but many people in their 50s (and beyond!) complete it successfully — especially if they are in good health and comfortable with walking several hours a day. The trek is spread over 4 days and 3 nights, covering 42 km / 26 miles. Here's a brief look at the hiking difficulty by day: - Day 1: Moderate — about 6 hours of hiking, gentle terrain - Day 2: The most challenging — includes the ascent to Dead Woman's Pass (4,215 m / 13,829 ft), which involves a steep climb and then a descent - Day 3: Moderate — shorter distance, more time to enjoy the cloud forest and Inca sites - Day 4: Easy to moderate — final short hike to Machu Picchu via the Sun Gate You'll be guided by experienced professionals who support hikers of all ages and fitness levels. Porters carry your gear, so you only hike with a small daypack. The itinerary is designed to allow for acclimatization, and our guides keep a close eye on everyone's health throughout the trek. If walking is comfortable for you and you take time to prepare with light hikes or cardio before the trip, you'll be in great shape to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Traveler•Written July 2025I'm in my 69th year, active and very interested in this hike.
TreXperienceOperator•Written July 2025If you're considering a group service, please note that our shared tours include up to 16 participants with 2 professional guides for personalized attention. However, when traveling with young children, we usually recommend a private service, which allows for greater flexibility and a pace tailored to your family's needs.

TreXperienceOperator•Written June 2025Unfortunately, the 4-day Inca Trail is already sold out until early October. The earliest available date is October 19. However, we would be delighted to offer you an excellent alternative: the Premium Salkantay Trek (4 days), starting on July 22.

Asked on June 9th, 2025Is it too late to book this trip for this August?
TreXperienceOperator•Written June 2025Unfortunately, the Inca Trail is already sold out until the first week of October. However, if your dates are still available, you can consider this alternative trek to Salkantay and Machu Picchu. If not, I can offer you other alternative treks to explore this stunning region.

Asked on May 10th, 2025Is tour 2 included in the Machu Picchu visit?
TreXperienceOperator•Written May 2025The 4-day Inca Trail includes an entrance to Machu Picchu on the final day of the trek. This visit follows Circuit 1 you will arrive to the upper part to Machu Picchu where you will take the traditional picture and Circuit 3, which covers the lower sections of the citadel, including significant areas such as the Main Plaza, the Sacred Rock, and the Temple of the Sun. This route offers a comprehensive experience of Machu Picchu's key archaeological sites.

Asked on April 1st, 2025Could I please check whether the trip includes a permit for the Inca Trail, or would we have to purchase this ourselves?
TreXperienceOperator•Written April 2025The Classic Inca Trail includes a special government-issued permit, which also grants access to Machu Picchu. Therefore, you do not need to purchase any additional tickets on your own — we'll take care of everything for you.

Asked on April 1st, 2025Is the age limit of 70 a strictly enforced? At 75, I'm athletic and active. Every year I take three hiking trips in Great Smoky Mountain National Park in America, and on each trip I take 3 hikes in 3 days: 14 miles/4000', 13 miles/4000', and 10 miles/3000'. I did 'via frararra' (I pulled myself up on cables in long distance due to the absence of trail) in Bulgaria (2023) and Italy (2024). I checked this itinerary and I am confident I can manage these hikes, although the elevation is quite higher than what I'm used to. So far the highest elevation I hiked is 13400'. Let me know your opinion.
TreXperienceOperator•Written April 2025Regarding the Salkantay Trek, the age limit of 70 is indeed a guideline that we adhere to for safety reasons, primarily due to the high altitude and remote nature of the trail. While you are clearly in excellent shape, we want to ensure that all our guests have the safest and most enjoyable experience. Given your experience and fitness level, I would highly recommend the Classic Inca Trail (4 days, 3 nights) as an alternative. This trek reaches similar altitudes but offers a more gradual ascent, well-maintained paths, and the unique advantage of arriving at Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate—a truly unforgettable experience.

Traveler•Written April 2025Could you send me a link to check the 4D/3N 'Classic Inca Trail' you referenced? I saw a few tours with this names on the web. Some of them have the age limit of 60. I have seen tours with the same itinerary, by the same operator, but by different tour companies. Could you explain why?
TreXperienceOperator•Written April 2025We don't have a strict age limit for the Inca Trail. Instead, we base our recommendations on your overall physical condition and hiking experience. We've had many travelers over the age of 60 complete the trek successfully and enjoyably. You may see different age restrictions listed by other tour companies or platforms, even for the same route, because some third-party agencies apply their own internal policies, which are not official government regulations.
