    Asheville to Shining Rock Wilderness

    Start point
    Asheville, North Carolina, United States (Arrival transfer from your accommodation, 05:00 - 08:00)
    Meals
    Lunch (Meal at summit or in Ivestor Gap meadows), Dinner (Sunset dinner on Shining Rock summit, prepared fresh by guide)

    • Stop at Looking Glass Falls roadside attraction
    • Hike Art Loeb Trail over Black Balsam Knob and Tennent Mountain (approximately 5 miles, 1000 feet elevation gain)
    • Lunch at summit or in Ivestor Gap meadows
    • Basecamp setup near Shining Rock Gap
    • Sunset dinner on Shining Rock summit

    • Option 1: Hike to Cold Mountain summit (approximately 9 miles, 1795 feet elevation gain/loss) with lunch at summit
    • Option 2: Hike to the Narrows ridgeline (approximately 5 miles, 750 feet elevation loss) with lunch at scenic ridgeline
    • Option 2: Extra time to explore Shining Rock quartzite rock outcroppings
    • Dinner at basecamp

      Guests will dig cat holes and carry out tissue paper. We supply toilet kits with paper and extra ziplocks to keep used paper.

The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 65 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
    • Some departure dates and prices may vary and Wildland Trekking will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
