What people love about Mid Atlantic Tours
- America's Historic East with Extended Stay in Washington DC
There was much information, history given. At times the pace was too fast; as I think back now that I am home the various places are kind of a blur. Several places we were just not given enough time to explore, local guides seemed pressured under timelines. Sometimes “free time this afternoon “ was just too short, rushed and not relaxing. Baltimore was one example. Finding food when not provided was kind of a challenge; buying dinner at a grocery store was quite novel, but the store had much to offer. More quidance as to what is offered in each area would be helpful.

Our tour guide, Barbara Buryiak, was exceptionally knowledgeable. She was always pleasant and was able to navigate some issues that popped up during the tour—i.e. road closures to certain areas, navigating the fact that the Old Town Trolley does not run on July 4 in DC, getting us some extra site seeing opportunities (the church at Gettysburg for one) and getting those of us who went on from Philadelphia to Washington DC a new hotel when the Capital Hilton claimed we did not have any reservations—which Barbara knew should not have been the case as she had seen the rooming list at the beginning of the tour which stated that 13 folks would be returning to the hotel, spending July 3 and 4 there. She also provided us some “extras.” She knew the value of the communication and was always very positive.

My wife and I are very grateful to Kyle for his professional thoughtful service. We are so glad for Wildland trekking and Kyle to make this 45th wedding anniversary wonderful.

"Unfortunately, it was disappointing due to the Travel Director's lack of professionalism and organizational skills. He blamed not having his tour box because it was sent somewhere else. He didn't accompany us on most excursions unless it was food related and he did not narrate or provide any commentary on the trip. He lacked knowledge, was unhelpful and did not work with the group to provide information. During our "No Dinner" welcome, at best sparse appetizers we didn't even introduce ourselves to our fellow travelers and blamed the company about dinner, though his name was on the email that said we would have a Welcome Dinner. He always had excuses for things instead of helpful encouragement.

"Because of the itinerary, I joined the tour and oh, boy, I surely wasn't mistaken. It was a great adventure from beginning to end. The only missing piece is the start of the Revolution, which is situated in Boston. That would have rounded up the experience to a T. Anyhow, the tour guide was great and fun. It happened to be a relative small group tour of 21 people; that helped a lot too in terms of logistics, efficiency and orderliness. But the tour bus could have been better by having WiFi and more sound insulation, especially at the back where the engine and the air-conditioning were noisier;the overhead built-in speakers could have been better; as it was, they were kind of muffled in the rear again. Overall, it was worth every penny. For history buffs, it could not get any better, actually experiencing the real thing, immersing in it all than just reading the events online or in book format. Once in a lifetime experience. Never a dull moment.
