Itinerary
- Day 1
Hoover Dam
Head out to the Hoover Dam this morning to see the 1936 engineering project that holds back 112 miles of the Colorado River. You'll learn about the Native American high scalers who did dangerous work on the canyon walls and check out the cooling systems engineers used during construction. Grab lunch at the Visitors Center and spend some time with the exhibits before heading back to your hotel.

- Day 2
Valley of Fire
Take a shuttle into Nevada's oldest and largest state park along the Valley of Fire Highway. The red-gold Aztec sandstone formations are everywhere, and you'll see 3,000-year-old Anasazi petroglyphs carved into the rocks. Keep an eye out for desert bighorn sheep, and if you're visiting in spring, you might catch colorful wildflowers too. Stay another night at your hotel.

- Day 3
Death Valley
Transfer to Death Valley National Park this morning. You'll cycle from the Rhyolite ghost town up to Daylight Pass at 4,317 feet for views across the valley, then take a 26-mile downhill descent to get your first real look at Death Valley. After that, head to the Ranch at Death Valley for the next three nights. There's a pool to cool off in later.

- Day 4
Death Valley - Golden Canyon & Dante's View
Start the day with a 3-mile hike through Golden Canyon, walking past massive boulders and pastel-colored dunes until you reach Zabriskie Point with its well-known views of the badlands. Then take a shuttle up to Dante's View at 5,500 feet to get panoramic views of Telescope Peak, the Black Mountains, and the whole valley spread out below. The afternoon is free to relax or explore on your own. You'll handle dinner separately.

Ubehebe Crater & Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes
Shuttle to Ubehebe Crater this morning and do a 1.5-mile hike around the rim of this 600-foot-deep crater that formed when hot magma hit groundwater and exploded. After that, cycle mostly downhill to Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes, the same location used for Tatooine in the original Star Wars film. You'll grab lunch on your own.

Badwater Basin & Return to Las Vegas
Take a shuttle to Badwater Basin, the lowest point in the continent at 282 feet below sea level. You'll stop at Artist's Palette to see the colorful rocks created by oxidized metals, then walk out on the salt flats. After cycling back to the Oasis, have a celebratory lunch and get cleaned up before heading back to Las Vegas.
