  I recently completed a 3-day guided tour in Varanasi. The itinerary itself was great and covered many of the highlights of the city, including the ghats, temples, and the Ganga Aarti ceremony. The guide was knowledgeable about the history and culture, and I appreciated the opportunity to see such an important spiritual destination up close. However, the experience would have been much better with clearer communication. There were times when airport pickup confirmation , meeting points, timing, or the plan for the day were not explained well in advance, which caused some uncertainty . A more detailed schedule or clearer updates from the tour company would have made the tour run much more smoothly. Overall, the destinations and cultural insights were memorable, but improved organization and communication would significantly enhance the experience for future travelers.Show more

  Communication by Aamir prior to trip was good, setting up a whatsapp channel and introducing us to our driver. We were met by our driver Bablu who was great, he quickly welcomed us with some Chai Masala. We then picked up our guide Dr Sanu and travelled to Sarnath. There was a bit of confusion about when we would check in at the hotel with various timings being muted. In the end we had to go the Ganga Aarti first and checked in to the Hotel at 9pm which made it a long day from our 5.30 airport taxi to Varanassi. The seats at the Ganga Aarti were excellent with a great view. The hotel was great with good rooms and great food in the restaurant. Allah the restaurant manager took great care of us encouraging us to try several local dishes. The next day we had a sunrise start for a boat ride on the ganges. A visit to the cremation grounds followed, westerners should consider whether they want to include this as you will definitely see dead bodies, you will inevtably walk on the deceased's ashes and the brahim asked that the fire wood be poked so that we could see the body actually burning. This was followed by a very high pressure sales pitch to buy multiple kilos of wood at £15 per kilo. Overall we found this experience distressing. We were sold the tour as a 3 day itinerary, but we had no itinerary on the 3rd day which was quite annoying as I had previously asked Aamir at what time the airport drop would be and told 1pm so had booked a later flight. In the end we could have had more time in Mumbai our next stop. It was clear that a new client was arriving that day and so we were dropped at the airport more than 4 hours before our flight with none of the scheduled sightseeing on the way. I have rated the tour as 3 star due to this breach of trust. I would rate it 4 star on the parts we did actually complete. Bablu himself as the driver I would rate as 5 star as he was full of energy and always looking to help me throughout.Show more
