We are in our 50s, wondering how tough the biking part is? Also i notice the first tour is March15, due to wet season I gather. We need to be finished by March15. Is this possible if do a private tour. Or weather would not suit.

    • OneSeed ExpeditionsOperatorWritten July 2024

The biking portion of this trip is almost entirely downhill on a paved road and does not require any technical mountain biking skills beyond the ability to ride a bike. We do offer private trips which can be arranged on virtually any date, subject to availability along the trail. Per person pricing for private expeditions is based on the number of people in your party, and would typically be $1,950 USD per person for a two-person, private trip; however, we can reduce that to $1,670 per person based on double occupancy for a March 2025 trek. While rain is common in the region year round, we do like travelers considering this itinerary to be aware of the rainy season in Peru if they plan to travel between Jan - Mar (with rains typically becoming lighter as you push through March). Likewise, we recommend that travelers bring waterproof clothing layers for all trips, and like to reiterate that recommendation for anyone traveling during rainy season. We do recommend avoiding this itinerary in January or February, when rains tend to be heaviest, but do have some itineraries that work well during those months if you need to travel during peak rainy season.

We rate all of our Expeditions on an activity scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being the least active and 5 being the most. We rate this multi-sport expedition as a 3 of 5 on that scale: LEVEL 3 - MODERATE. These expeditions require an average level of fitness and the ability to hike over variable terrain. These are great first treks. Typical days may require 5+ miles over 5+ hours of hiking.

    • OneSeed ExpeditionsOperatorWritten September 2022

Lima has currency exchange offices and ATMs. It is a large, international airport so I would expect those to be open on a weekend, but we do not operate in Lima and are unable to guarantee third party business hours.

    • OneSeed ExpeditionsOperatorWritten July 2022

Full suspension mountain bikes are provided for the biking activity on Day 3 of the itinerary and you bike from the top of Malaga Pass to Huamanmarca via paved road. OneSeed does not offer expeditions along the Mega Avalanche trail, and we do not have any specific recommendations on an operator that does.

    • OneSeed ExpeditionsOperatorWritten May 2022

OneSeed defers to local regulations regarding vaccination of any sort. Currently, travelers must present proof of full vaccination against covid19 or a negative covid19 test, taken no more than 48 hours prior to boarding your flight into Peru, in order to enter the country. Government imposed restrictions and requirements are subject to change, but best to plan on meeting those for now.

    Tour Details
    Visa
    • OneSeed ExpeditionsOperatorWritten April 2022

This itinerary does not include any trekking along the route traditionally known as the Inca Trail and does not include Inca Trail permits, but it does include about 18 mi / 29 km of trekking in other areas near Machu Picchu, and all of your permits/entry fees for those treks are included in the expedition.

      TravelerWritten April 2022

Can you recommend a tour that does please?

    • OneSeed ExpeditionsOperatorWritten April 2022

OneSeed does not offer Inca Trail treks on TourRadar, but there may be another operator with Inca Trail treks listed on TourRadar's site. Historically, permits for the Inca Trail booked up 6 - 8 months in advance. We also offer a trek along the Salkantay Route which is more trekking focused and does not typically sell out as quickly.

    • OneSeed ExpeditionsOperatorWritten January 2022

There is currently availability on that March 19 - 25, 2022 Peru Multi Sport expedition and we would love to have you join. TourRadar offers pricing in your local currency and optional add-ons such as third party trip insurance at the time of booking, which would impact your final cost.

    • OneSeed ExpeditionsOperatorWritten January 2022

On Day 5 of the expedition, you take a bus to an area known as the hydroelectric before beginning a 3 hour hike to Aguas Calientes - the town that lies at the base of Machu Picchu Mountain. On Day 6 you take an early bus (20 minute ride) to Machu Picchu for a tour of the archaeological site. OneSeed does not offer scuba expeditions, but you may be able to find another tour operator on TourRadar that does.

    Asked on January 5th, 2022

what does that mean? Does that mean the "dates" 4/16-4/22 can shift or change? Curious before we book.

    Tour Details
    • OneSeed ExpeditionsOperatorWritten January 2022

Group dates are not flexible, but we do offer flexibility to postpone to a new group date with at least 45 days advanced notice. If you were to book that April 16 expedition, you would have flexibility to reschedule to a new group date, if needed, until March 2, 2022.
