    • Intrepid TravelOperatorWritten July 2023

ATMs are widely available in major towns and cities across Latin America. Credit cards are generally available in tourist shops and restaurants. Visa and Mastercard are generally preferred over American Express, Diners, etc. Smaller venues take cash only.

    • Intrepid TravelOperatorWritten July 2023

You will need a good warm sleeping bag for the trek. Sleeping bags can be hired for US20-25, please let your Tour Leader know at the trek briefing. A four season (or -10) bag is recommended especially for the winter months. At other times you will probably be fine in a 3 season (or -5) bag although this depends on how much you feel the cold and is given as a guideline only.

In the details it says that international flights are not covered, but in Day 32 there is a flight to Buenos Aires. Is that covered by the tour? In 'what's included' under Transport, it is mentioned that there is a plane. Are there any flights covered on this tour?

Since I am going to book the flight right after I book your tour, I really need a definitely yes from you.

    • Intrepid TravelOperatorWritten June 2022

As it stands, we can assume it's a solid yes. However, we do have to consider that there could be variables that could lead to an unexpected cancellation. Though this is unlikely, it is something to bear in mind. But, yes. At this time, it is safe to say the trip will go ahead as planned.

    Asked on April 9th, 2022

I'm a 52-year young woman travelling on my own and I would like to know which is the composition of the group ... to see if this could fit or not. I would also like to share room with another single traveller, if there is none, how would that work?

    Accommodation
    Group size
    • Intrepid TravelOperatorWritten April 2022

There is currently 1 other passenger on the tour. They are a solo female traveller in their 40s. You would be sharing the room with this single traveller.

If a single traveller is not available you would have the room to yourself.

if going ahead - how the payment schedule would look?

    • Intrepid TravelOperatorWritten May 2022

You will need to pay a £200 deposit to secure your space on the tour and then full payment will be due whenever Tour Radar's terms and conditions are.

can you send a list with all possible extra excursions and the cost (I see that especially in Bolivia there are many free days)

which is the amount of money you recommend to take with me (should it be cash in USD)?

I understand there is no way to do any trek through the Colca Canyon

Can the Rainbow mountain be visited?

Is there a specific packing list, recommending type / warmth of clothes for this season?

    • Intrepid TravelOperatorWritten May 2022

We have plenty of ideas of optional activities listed on our itinerary day-by-day, priced in the local currency. We also have extensive information on what to pack, how much money to bring, in which currencies, and all things from dealing with the altitude to tipping culture!

Regarding the Colca Canyon, you're right, there is not an included trek but you will have an included guided tour!

There is a possibility to add an Urban Adventure to Rainbow Mountain onto your trip, separate to the main tour, and this could be included whilst in Cusco. This would occur right after your trip to Machu Picchu - which can be a tiring (though wonderful) journey. Personally, I found trekking up to the Rainbow Mountain quite challenging, due to the extreme altitude. So, it is worth considering the impact this inclusion may have on your trip, however it is astonishing and we can assist you in booking if you choose to go ahead.

    Asked on January 15th, 2022

I am potentially interested in this tour. But I have a question on the itinerary - the interactive map shows the tour going (after Uyuni) to Red Lagoon and Atacama. But this doesn't appear on the actual itinerary. Is there a reason why?

You are correct, this trip does not travel to Red Lagoon and Atacama, it seems the map is outdated I apologise. I will contact Tour Radar to get this updated as soon as possible.
