We arrived in Ho Chi Minh City a few days before the official start of the tour, yet the local tour operator still kindly arranged an airport transfer to pick us up and take us to the hotel – a thoughtful gesture that made us feel welcome right away. From that moment everything worked well throughout the seven days. We explored lively Saigon and the fascinating Cu Chi Tunnels, then flew to Hanoi before heading into the peaceful Mai Chau Valley. The resort there offered the best view of the surrounding hills and rice fields – simply stunning and so relaxing. The highlight, however, was the overnight boat cruise on Halong Bay. The scenery was breathtaking and the seafood on board was so delicious and fresh that we still talk about it. The whole itinerary felt well balanced between city, countryside and nature.
