    my flight would arrive in the early morning and I would want to check into my room right away. Is it possible to make any changes to the tour? If I needed to miss one day of the tour due to illness for instance, would it be possible to join a different group on a different day to do that particular activity (knowing that I would miss a different day of my own group)?

    Early check-in is always subject to the hotel's availability at the time of arrival and will incur extra charges, which must be paid directly at the hotel. We cannot guarantee that it will be available. The only way to guarantee the room is to book the previous night and inform the hotel that you will only arrive early the next morning.

We can make changes to the tour, but we cannot guarantee that the tour you are unable to attend on one day will have availability on the following day. It always depends on availability.

  I'm very interested in joining your Azores tour and am ready to book soon. I will be traveling solo and noticed the $500 single supplement. Since March is still part of the quieter season, I wanted to ask if there might be any flexibility for solo travelers for example a reduced supplement or the possibility of matching me with another solo traveler if one joins the group.

    The price you are seeing right now reflects the current hotel rates, since the tour starts in a few days and hotel prices are a little higher due to last-minute bookings. The best we can do, starting the tour on the 9th and ending on March 15th, at the Vip Executive Azores 4* hotel with breakfast included, is €985.

    Is it possible to go to Pico on our free day in this tour, do an additional whale watching tour can return the same day? Or is that too much in one day.

    On the day of the day tours (Lagoa do Fogo and Sete Cidades Full-Day Tour, Vila Franca do Campo and Furnas Full-Day Tour, and Nordeste and Eastern Tip Full-Day Tour), lunch is included, so you will only have to pay for dinner and any snacks you may want throughout the day. Breakfast is included in the tour price.
    
    The average cost of dinner in the Azores per person varies greatly depending on the type of restaurant and what is included (starter, main course, dessert, and drinks), but here is a general idea based on several updated sources:
    Simpler restaurants/local taverns (dinner): around €10 to €20 per person - traditional dishes and more basic local meals.
    Mid-range restaurant (full dinner): approximately €20 to €35 per person.
    More sophisticated restaurants / fine dining: can easily cost €40+ per person, depending on the menu and wines.
    In practical terms, for dinner at a mid-range restaurant without overdoing it on drinks, expect to pay around €20 to €30 per person.

    Ponta Delgada is located on São Miguel Island, while Pico is a separate island within the Azores archipelago. There is no ferry connection between São Miguel and Pico, so the only way to travel between the two islands is by plane. Although the flight itself is relatively short (approximately 40 minutes), it is necessary to consider airport check-in times, boarding, disembarkation, transfers, and the possibility of delays.
    In practice, arranging a same-day return would require perfectly aligned flight schedules in both directions, something that is rarely available. Additionally, the actual time spent on Pico would be very limited, making the visit rushed and preventing you from fully enjoying the island.

  How much would this organized tour for a solo person cost in March, April and May? I noticed that in April the price is double of the price in March. Is there an option to share a room with other travellers who sign up to reduce the cost? Does this group tour offer an option of adventurous activities? Which ones? Are activities extra cost or included?

Our tours are semi-private, which means that accommodation and transfers are always private, never shared. There is no option to share a room with anyone else. Day tours and activities are shared, but we cannot guarantee that you will always have the same guide or the same group of participants. If you want to make any changes or add any activities, this is possible, but there will be additional costs.

    I'm looking for the best airline to book my flights - preferably from London Gatwick. Most of the flights I've been looking at go via Lisbon and connecting flights to San Miguel are generally many hours later making it a full day's travel both ways.

    Unfortunately on the requested dates there are only flights with connections available from London to Ponta Delgada. Do you have flexibility with your travel dates? There are direct flights available from London Heathrow on the 18th April.
